How much are secon hand engines as if yours got bent rod and you been driving it may be well buggerd and cost more than a good secon hand lump or a new exchange engine
None tapping 6 engine is roughly £300 depending on millage
I've got my cone filter bolted straight onto the Throttle body, no water getting to mine... Smile
Hmm sounds good that was going to see if I could re route it up by the abs pump or by the battery box
New avo springs turned up today Big Grin 5" 400lbs hopefully a hell of a lot smoother drive to the 875lbs
Well the cars on its way to get its new engine fitted Smile before anyone says it I haven't got the time and place to do it myself, work won't let me as I'll be holding up a ramp for awhile Sad so it's getting done some were else for now Smile

well a mfew pictures ive had for a while but no working computer until now Smile the tape covering the show plate due to a traffic officer getting abit arsy about having to plates on the front of my car, his words were "unless you cover it up now I have to give you a fine" so out came the hazard tape I borrowed from work Tongue

bit of an update on the engine the new one has all the new parts on it just waiting to here when its going to be in the pug Big Grin hopefully back on my drive mid this week so fingers crossed it is!
I picked up the gti today Big Grin steady drive home but it's running as sweet as a nut, finally have a gti that's not tapping!!!!!!!!! Big Grin new tyres tomorrow as the rears are getting bold and fitting the new coilover springs Smile
Bout time! haha Tongue
yay! Good to hear this is back.
Glad to see it lives again Smile

Got anymore plans for it?
Always liked Astor grey
This looks awesome Smile
Love this, how much does a decent engine go for these days? Low miler's must be few and far between? Not sure about the tape though!! Big Grin
Cheers guys Big Grin few plans might sound odd but planning for next year's fcs for it to be epic, this year will just be lower and a good clean but next year I would like it on air, 8j and 9.5j shmidtz 3 pease modern lines with white centres and polished lip and a few other touches, the tap is just to cover the show plate as I found out by a traffic officer that you can't have 2 plates :/ the engine cost me 350 dude

think the weirdest feeling is having the window stopped at traffic lights and not hearing "tap tap tap tap tap tap" really odd but good Big Grin
Well fitted the new springs at work today and got to say the ride is so much smoother but with the odd bounce Smile need to adjust the ride hight a bit more as it bottoms out on big bumps but rasing the coilover 4 mm has lowered it another 10 mm which is what I wanted Big Grin also fitted some falken 914's as the old 912's were very very very broken inside the tyre!
Bet your just glad to have it back!
Mate I haven't stop smiling since last night, I got up epically early just to go the long way to work and drove round for about an hour or so before i went home and refused how much fuel i used Tongue was well worth it!
Stop being so happy with your 6. Makes me feel inferior with my 1.something. Tongue
Back to the bwaaps!!
lmao it's epic Tongue yep back to bwapps, number 1 on the list to do tomorrow is sort the coilovers bottoming out and move the mofo of the art filter away from the bottom of the bumper, as I don't want to work for the council again Tongue they can clear there own roads next time! lmao
lmao
Great news sam..

875 springs??? Wow must have been punishing, 400s must be like cushions in comparison!
Cheers dude so glad to have it back Big Grin

Yeah mate they were insane, no suspension what so ever. The 400 are a lot better still a bit bounce but smooth Smile
Out terrorising Wiltshire again then Sam?

Glad to hear you got it sorted. And interested to see it go down the Air route. I've seen it on a Volkswagen Golf and was pretty insane how low it goes, gives the irish spec a run for their money.
Well avoiding puddles and letting the engine wake up for a few miles or so but apart from that yeah haha yeah but won't be after pugfest though
Sorted the suspension out, raised them up but somehow made the car lower which is fine with me, but the old man said I have to park the car on the road now as the drive has taken a battering Big Grin in other news I might be selling the comps in the next few months to make way for some new wheels Wink also need to order a bmc filter and a 90 degree silicone pipe to move it up by the battery Smile pictures soon once I've taken some and a very good clean is in order
