Show Season is on its way!
Posted by: Niall - 31-01-2016, 05:37 PM - Forum: Portal posts - No Replies

Christmas is long gone and you're probably getting sick of the dull winter weather which can only mean one thing. Show season is rapidly approaching.
As per usual there will be plenty of shows on this year dotted all up and down the country and we will be trying to attend as many as possible as a club. The mains shows for us though are FCS and Pugfest and i would love to see such a huge turn out as we have had in previous years.

Pugfest - Sunday 10th July
Anyone who has attended Pugfest before will know that it is a no nonsense, petrol heads dream. Set at Prescott Hill climb in Cheltenham, its a great opportunity to see some pretty special cars from all walks of Peugeot's history. The hill climb is brilliant fun for anyone in any car and a great way to see what your car can do.
This year is a bit special for us at Pugfest being a 306 club. To mark the 15th anniversary of the end of production of the 306 GTi, there will be a 306 GTi-6 cavalcade at lunch time up the hill climb.
As per usual there will be camping on site on the Saturday night which is a great excuse to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. Its a very relaxed atmosphere and the organisers put on some childish games to make things just that little bit more interesting.
Tickets are not on sale yet but we will let you know as soon as we hear from PSCUK. We are unsure of ticket prices currently but i would imagine they will be the same or similar to last year. £20 for a camping and entrance ticket and £6 per hill run. We recommend booking your hill runs in advance with your ticket. They are available on the day but very quickly sell out.

French Car show - Saturday 4th - Sunday 5th June
FCS is back at Castle Combe, Wiltshire this year for a weekend of fun. As per previous years there will be plenty of entertainment as well as track time and competitions. We will be camping on site again for the Friday and Saturday nights which is great fun and a good excuse to have one too many beers and a overcooked BBQ.
As normal the club will have a stand and tickets are on sale Here now. Remember to put "306oc" down as your chosen club when you book so you get a car pass for the correct area.

Make sure to keep an eye on the Meets section for regular updates on these shows and plenty of others. If you have never been to a show before at all or maybe not with this club, feel free to join us. We are a friendly bunch and everyone is welcome! Also, if you fancy arranging your own meet be it a drive through the country side or a meet up in a pub car park for a Sunday lunch, please do so!

  Christmas Meet 2015
Posted by: Niall - 20-09-2015, 04:28 PM - Forum: Portal posts - No Replies

As we approach the last big show of the year (End of season expo), the nights are drawing in and that means one thing. The Christmas meet is rapidly approaching!
We have decided to keep the location the same as last year at the Premier Inn in Barnwood, Gloucester. We hope the weekend is as great as it has been every year so far with plenty of members turning up, plenty of laughs had and probably one to many drinks drunk. For more information on the meet, you can view the thread here. We would love to see you join us!
As per last year, we will also be doing forum awards. These range from serious awards such as most progressed project of the year through to silly awards such as most ankles broken in a year (i think we all know who will win that one Wink
Unlike last year though, we will be putting the vote out to you guys as to who will win! We will have small awards for the overall winners and hopefully have some prizes to give away as well.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Show: PFC EXPO - Sunday 27th September 2015
Posted by: Fooby - 21-08-2015, 01:15 PM - Forum: Portal posts - No Replies

Not long till the Performance French Car Expo. Its coming up super fast and its one of the last shows of the season. Once again the club will be in attendance and we will have a stand outside. For anyone who thinks there car is awesome then entries for the OCD Finish Top 20 still being taken visit http://www.frenchcarshow.co.uk/requests/themed-paddock

General overview of the event is that its a nice and small event with some quality cars on the inside of the exhibition centre. Food last year was pretty poor and over priced so may be good to bring your own snacks for the day. You can easily be in and out of the event in a few hours but its the club banter as usual that makes it a full day. I think most of us were there by 10 and headed off by 3 last year.

Location

Donington Park, Castle Donington, Derby, DE74 2RP - Map

Tickets

Buy tickets from http://www.frenchcarshow.co.uk/store. Tickets start from £12.95. Make sure you put 306oc down as your club when purchasing tickets.

Accommodation

For those of us travelling from a far we will be staying in Derby South Premier Inn. Currently £68.00 a night. This is 10.4 miles away and takes about 30 minutes. Its a nice fun cross country drive there in the morning. Map

  Pugfest 2015
Posted by: Niall - 12-06-2015, 10:01 AM - Forum: Portal posts - No Replies

With FCS rapidly becoming a distant memory, we can look forward to the next show of the year, Pugfest!
As per usual, Pugfest is held at Prescott hill climb circuit in Cheltenham. The show day is Sunday 12th July with camping on site the night before. For anyone who hasn't been to the show before, i highly recommend you camp. Its a fantastic, chilled out atmosphere and the organisers put on a few games such as tug of war to keep a bit of competition going between the clubs.

Tickets are now on sale at £11 per person for a day ticket (just the show day) or £20 per person for the show day and camping the night before. Hill runs can also be purchased in advanced starting from £6 per run. Tickets can be found on the PSCUK shop Here. If you are planning to have your car on the 306oc stand, you must purchase your tickets before hand. You can buy tickets on the gate if it is going to be a last minute decision for you but you will be parked in the public car park. This also means you will have no access to the hill climb.
If buying tickets in advance, make sure you put your reg number in the form and our club name if you wish to be on our stand.

Camping is open from 3pm on the Saturday and gates close at 9pm. If you arrive after 9pm, you will not be allowed in so allow plenty of time to get there. We will be camping as a group again so if you are new to the club, please do come and find us and have a chat. We are all friendly enough!
BBQs are allowed however must be raised off the ground and there is toilet facilities on site but only one shower.
