I said closer to my house, not at it. Tongue

However going off the latest EA meets I'm sure the flats carpark would be adequate for the 3 people that would turn up. lol

Yeah because they are so much different to any other 16v engine. Next you'll be telling me you must take it to a specialist because its impossible to do it your self.

I've only done 2 lol, both 8 valves. Confused Specialist would at least offer warranty if anything went wrong. Wink

It's not just me anyway, a few of the local Pug guys wouldn't risk changing belts on other '6 engines when I asked...

Exactly this. Its a bloody cambelt!! Its simple and will work fine providing you do the job properly and dont cut corners!

I know 'how' to do it in theory. I just don't like doing things without specific values. Can torque bolts to exactly XXXNm, but '90 degrees with moderate pressure' on a belt will differ between people! Confused We already have one broken engine, why risk another when there are people (like yourself Tongue ) that have loads of experience doing them frequently lol.

Lol, you wouldn't have to bring biscuits though, got a surplus of those since people kept buying them at xmas! Confused

Project car or not, rather not to be ruining £300 engines! If it was a HDi I wouldn't worry so much as they're only worth a fiver. lol What I learn from mistakes is to let someone else do it that knows what they're doing. Big Grin

So tempted to randomly crash this. Fancy a good roadtrip and I've never been to Suffolk.

That I know of anyway. Is it near that London?

London!? This is farmer territory, none of that city shite here, we don't even have motorways in Suffolk. Tongue

London is more like a 5 hour trip because people enjoy crashing on the A12 and ruining everyone elses day. Quicker to go by train, but then you have to be near 'people' urgh...

Slightly OT but that's a great opportunity to learn a new skill and do a cambelt for the cost of parts, I'd jump at that.

I can teach you? It's not hard mate, just cut out half your words and complain about the price of stuff a lot. And if the rain is coming from above rather than sideways, say "reyt nice out today, getus me shorts love".
