You've got to be trolling.

25 miles? I do nearly double that every day.

She really dislikes driving Iceman! I have to drive us everywhere.

Im also thinking, buying it now would mean 2 weeks of tax paid for nothing! Towards the end of the month is a far more sensible time to be buying cars!!

I've realised more and more that women seem to be wearing the trousers in most relationships Tongue
I'd personally get a train anyway, normally cost the same as fuel, if not, cheaper.

But yeah, drive it home on the day as it's still taxed. Sorn it as soon as you're home and tax it from start of Sep.

Got a new plan now, wait for the old man to visit and drag him along. Costs me nothing in petrol then! (was the wifes idea haha)

Need to phone insurance and find out how much thatll be too!

Dont wanna take the risk with taxing it, in case he contacts them. There are always ANPR cameras around leighton buzzard.

ANPR only detects if its taxed or not...not who taxed it...

If you get pulled over for something else I suppose it could be an issue though.

Btw, I drove the Fiesta over 50 miles across various roads in Ipswich with no MOT so no tax either and didn't get any problems at all. Technically it was legal as I was driving to and from MOTs but the cameras wouldn't have known that.

As said, the car is taxed on the system. It will be until dvla receive the v5. As long as you sorn it on the same day, there's no issue

TBH, for £20 id rather just tax it.

I am the most unlucky person in the world and I am bound to be caught. Whats the penalty for driving with no tax?!?

You're not driving without tax though. The police won't know/don't care who applied for the tax

Surely when the "new owner" takes possession, the tax becomes null and void.

Therefore it would be untaxed. I realise the ANPR database wouldn't be updated until the DVLA received the V5 from the seller or I taxed/SORN'ed it

I went to Chelmsford from Glasgow for my 6. And Cornwall for my 335d. From Glasgow. The right car is worth the journey. Even if it's one or two days out.

Ok, I get the point! 25 miles is not that far!

I will drag myself to see it at some point. I'm going to assume that a 5l, 20mpg (on a good day) rusty 16 year old merc isnt going to sell THAT fast!

So in the time you've been scratching your balls since posting this thread you could of walked there and bought the car. MTFU, that distance is easily cycle-able or even get a f*cking minicab

Says the guy who posts a thread saying how bad he wants it? lol

But you clearly don't want it that bad or you'd travel the few miles to go and buy it. As already mentioned many a time, MTFU dude. Like seriously
