25 miles? I've commuted further than that, man up.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - MY95 - 17-08-2015

25 miles... seriously?! Pugfest was a over 500 mile round trip in one day for me! Just do it.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - cpikey316_ - 17-08-2015

Getting my wife to drive me is the issue!!

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - welshpug - 17-08-2015

I rode my bike to get my last car!

that was 40 miles including the severn bridge and through bristol

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - silverzx - 17-08-2015

25 miles? Catch a bus!

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - Iceman299 - 17-08-2015

It's 25miles, catch a train you pu$$y!

And it's an issue to get your wife to drive 50 miles on a motorway... Wow

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - 1616six - 17-08-2015

You've got to be trolling.

25 miles? I do nearly double that every day.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - cpikey316_ - 17-08-2015

She really dislikes driving Iceman! I have to drive us everywhere.

Im also thinking, buying it now would mean 2 weeks of tax paid for nothing! Towards the end of the month is a far more sensible time to be buying cars!!

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - silverzx - 17-08-2015

Excuses.

Obviously don't want it that bad.

I've realised more and more that women seem to be wearing the trousers in most relationships Tongue
I'd personally get a train anyway, normally cost the same as fuel, if not, cheaper.

But yeah, drive it home on the day as it's still taxed. Sorn it as soon as you're home and tax it from start of Sep.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - Toms306 - 17-08-2015

What an excellent ad...ruined by the title!! lol

Also, even my car was more than 25 miles away... Confused

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - cpikey316_ - 17-08-2015

Got a new plan now, wait for the old man to visit and drag him along. Costs me nothing in petrol then! (was the wifes idea haha)

Need to phone insurance and find out how much thatll be too!

Dont wanna take the risk with taxing it, in case he contacts them. There are always ANPR cameras around leighton buzzard.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - Toms306 - 17-08-2015

ANPR only detects if its taxed or not...not who taxed it...

If you get pulled over for something else I suppose it could be an issue though.

Btw, I drove the Fiesta over 50 miles across various roads in Ipswich with no MOT so no tax either and didn't get any problems at all. Technically it was legal as I was driving to and from MOTs but the cameras wouldn't have known that.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - Iceman299 - 17-08-2015

As said, the car is taxed on the system. It will be until dvla receive the v5. As long as you sorn it on the same day, there's no issue

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - cpikey316_ - 17-08-2015

TBH, for £20 id rather just tax it.

I am the most unlucky person in the world and I am bound to be caught. Whats the penalty for driving with no tax?!?

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - Iceman299 - 17-08-2015

You're not driving without tax though. The police won't know/don't care who applied for the tax

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - cpikey316_ - 17-08-2015

Surely when the "new owner" takes possession, the tax becomes null and void.

Therefore it would be untaxed. I realise the ANPR database wouldn't be updated until the DVLA received the V5 from the seller or I taxed/SORN'ed it

Smh. With your paranoia it's best to just pay the £20 and tax it lol

Yes Fooby...

But seriously... 25 miles? I went about 250 to get the rallye!

WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - MisterGTR - 17-08-2015

I went to Chelmsford from Glasgow for my 6. And Cornwall for my 335d. From Glasgow. The right car is worth the journey. Even if it's one or two days out.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - cpikey316_ - 17-08-2015

Ok, I get the point! 25 miles is not that far!

I will drag myself to see it at some point. I'm going to assume that a 5l, 20mpg (on a good day) rusty 16 year old merc isnt going to sell THAT fast!

lol yeah, the trolling was deserved though Big Grin

Go for it, they're nice motors if in good nick.

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - Dum-Dum - 17-08-2015

So in the time you've been scratching your balls since posting this thread you could of walked there and bought the car. MTFU, that distance is easily cycle-able or even get a f*cking minicab

Says the guy who posts a thread saying how bad he wants it? lol

But you clearly don't want it that bad or you'd travel the few miles to go and buy it. As already mentioned many a time, MTFU dude. Like seriously

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - toseland - 18-08-2015

RE: WANT! Why is it 25 miles away :( - cpikey316_ - 18-08-2015

Ive messaged him to ask about the "faults" he gets when he starts it up.

The MB forums told me not to bother, itll be a rusty heap, get an 8 grand one instead!
