I've recently rebuilt the top end of my s16 engine and the fuel pump it's not engaging now it's back together, I believe it's a wire or plug not been attached in the correct place but I'm unsure of where the pump receives the signal to start sending. Can anyone help??

check the inertia switch, then fuel pump relay.

Also check the plug into the inertia switch as they don't clip in to well and if they come out just a bit, won't make a connection. Most put a cable tie around it to hold it in place

I know where the relay is, but where is the intertia switch positioned?

Big red button behind the battery box fixed to the strut. Push it and if you get a click, it's been set off and should be good to go now. If it's just feels like your pushing on a balloon, it's not been set up and I'd be checking the connections.
