Might as well put post this up, even though progress hasn't really happened since ive been back at uni.
This project started off with and xsi that i was going to transplant a gti engine into but i got lazy and bought a cheap GTi6
Sorry about photo quality (phone camera)
And what i am aiming for in the bay

Not had a chance to do any of this for ages as uni and other car stuff to do but i have bought some seats ready for the car when i get home in a couple of weeks
They came out of a saxo so frames will be different but im hoping i can adapt them if not i will be selling the frames and buying some others.
Will be ordering OMP bolt in roll cage soon. Need to either learn to weld or find someone who will do it at semi decent price .

Very small update
Saxo seat mounts are slightly different than 306 but will be drilling some new holes then they will fit fine, so no need to buy new ones, which im happy about as they aren't cheap.
Position of the buckets for the time being.
Cleaning up the outside with some nice ph3 bits already bonnet and lights
Ignore wheels they are temporary spares.

They are quite comfy seats but im not sure ide want them for long journeys.
Received the new Lower strut brace, can't wait to get it painted up and fitted, will be painting lots of engine parts at same time. Might remove the engine to tidy up the bay if i find the time
Braces, Cam covers, Mount brackets all going to Painted Kawasaki Green
Quick polish, These updates are quite slow but now im home for summer im hoping to get the project progressing a bit faster, aiming to be on track by end of summer.

Spent a couple of hours this evening stripping the inside of the car:
Before
During
After
Thats why its now sitting on stilts
I know the history of this car, can see all its repair jobs, but nothing serious so all good. Im sure i will end up binning it at some point on the track anyway.

Took the dash out and air-con/heater matrix system, surprising how heavy it all is.
Got loads of wiring to cut out now,Planning to have no electrics going to the roods, so not going to be the most comfortable but its a track car. Also Cutting down the dash.
Also tried out white writing on the wheels.

Got the engine out of the car im breaking ready for a quick paint and to fit the rallye aux setup.
Looks like my mate chewed up the chassis when driving it:
Now for the exhuast:
Straight through manifold back to a tiny 1-2inch box on the back, or the choice of a 4inch magnex
This sounded awesome with the tiny tail pipe fitted can't wait to get it all on the car and give it a quick blast

As weather has been crappy the past week i have been making the engine look nice, have always wanted to do this but never really seemed necessary. But it will look good when finished.
Also got my girlfriend to paint my brakes again
Shes getting good at them now

Not a clue, i have everything pretty much to finish it off.
Parts i have collected:
1.Bucket seats and frames plus harness
2.Koni rear dampners
3. Gmax front suspension temporary
4. OMP top brace and phillipm lower brace
5. Eight 205 speedline wheels
6. Solid lower engine mount
7. Track mascot to hang in the car.
Whats left:
1.Get the cage welded in and sprayed up
2.Weld the broken engine mount cradle, with chocks to stop engine movement
3.Engine back in
4. Half dash and seats in
5. Refurb the 205 wheels and fit the toy's
6. Lower about 40mm
7. Strut braces sprayed and fitted
8.Smooth the tailgate
Then time to get it up to lyden hill race circuit and test it out.
Knowing me will be ready by 2014......

I have a ph1 you can buy....... oh wait
I only own three 306's now, as the rest have all been scrapped and are being stripped down and used as organ donors.

Good work buddy.
I need to carry on with mine but Christmas and house means it's taken a back seat
the omp cage, do the front legs go in front of the dash or through it?

The OMP 6 point Bolt in cage goes infront of the dash, no need to disturb the dash. I just cut mine up to save weight
