oil cooler orientation
#1
not sure which tread to post this in.
So, having got a s/h cooler I was wondering which way up I should mount it;
hose unions to the top, or hose unions to the bottom?
not sure which way is best for future oil changes.

You'll need to add sideways to the poll now. lol

Is it being mounted lower than the sandwich plate? If so, it won't drain back to the sump for oil changes anyway. If not, unions down would be good. But does leave the opportunity for minor union leaks on the drive while parked.

until I get the front off, I only know I want to mount it in front of the air-con

updated the poll for you Wink

fitted mine with fittings to the top

reason....
no airlocks
ease of fitting at centre of the rad

Mines with fittings at the top behind the radiator. Leaves a very short hose run which is nice.
