		In an ideal world no. But in reality a lot of people run them with standard shocks. They are a bit bouncy like it though.

		IMO, don't do it. -40mm is as low as you want to go on standard shocks. I had -60mm on my DT, and it ended up really crashy and shit. If you're going -60mm, get uprated shocks.

		The lowering spring need to match with the sporty shock absorber, But you can fit the lowering spring with standard shock in reality with a bit or much bumpy on bridge jumping, Speed breaker ! 
Some sport absorber can be eliminate that symptom.
