Don't know if this was posted before, or is "old news" so to speak, but surely it is abit harsh of a review coming from someone from the "stance" side of car modifying? Souly speaking from references "more diesel into the turbo for black smoke"..    Anyhow, what's your opinions on the matter, and article in question?

everyone likes different things, however there have been multiple stories over the years of this "felt spec" as they've called it here being done dangerously... I even recall one that a lad removed his coil springs altogether just leaving the shocks which failed and came through the bonnet...

If done in a manner that it is safe I don't see the problem, leave them to it, destroying sumps etc

Haha its because the boy who wrote the article is from Northern Ireland and owns a beauty of a dimma 306, which obviously makes him different over here as 99% of 306s on the road are 3/4 nicksat the back with saxo springs in the front and look crap

Each to their own though....
I completely agree tbh.  I don't see much cool about that blaze ph1.  And I like Eoghans HDi...but would much prefer it with just a 30mm drop!  Maybe I'm just getting old lol.

Severe lack of handling? Lack of safety? Destroying suspension and drivetrain components? Having to detour all the time because of speed bumps? People looking at your car and thinking "he should get that fixed, it looks shit"?

Different strokes for different folks, we should welcome diversity in the 306/car scene in general IMO. Too much moaning these days, That said I don't get the use of Saxo springs when coilovers are so cheap though. That Blaze is an all time fave of mine

It's about as diverse as putting lexus lights on in the 90s, seems to generally done by cruise-type enthusiasts who do it to fit in and have all the other idiots think they're cool. I'm not generally a fan of stance, but at least that's got some imagination to it, this is like being cool because you're wearing the same football shirt as someone else. It's the 40mm drop and clones for people who don't mind making their car dangerous to drive.

I agree its not exactly practical and is a good way to ruin a car having it that low but I dunno a 30mm drop just wouldnt cut it for me, I dont think they look as good. But from a motoring point of view 100% it ruins the car, but I never have to drive or corner hard anyway lol

I was wondering, are Irish speed limits lower or something? Or are the roads straighter and flatter? And don't you have supermarkets? Seem to be speedbumps in every damn supermarket car park here now....I scrape the Focus on most of them, particularly the ones just in the centre of each lane (whats the point!) so dread to think what its like in low cars lol.
I can see the aesthetic point to it, not my cuppa but nor are a lot of aesthetic mods lol. But I jut cant see why you'd suffer the consequences while driving just to look cool myself.
