The I30 was well built but slow as f*ck. It wasn't as fun as the 500 even which was slower than a slow thing.
What engine was in the i30 out of interest as we have the 1.6diesel 110ps things at work. Also mk1 or mk2 (god I'm becoming an i30 geek)
Same engine as in my Kia and I'm positive they have a bed in map. Mine was shit slow when i first got it and one day i turned it on and it was like a different car.
Oh and they are 126PS
We definitely only have the 113bhp/115ps versions (well the mk1s that I prefer are all 113bhp cars) However with 11.1 seconds to 60mph, spooly little VNT turbo, 6 speed box and 117mph top speeds (although apparently will go faster) they aint bad round town . They actually aren't far off the Skoda VRS we have. As for the new hyundai i30s they are 108bhp or 126bhp and I'd bet we have the 108 cars.

Still could be worse, all the local counties are using 1.2 CDTi astras that hardly move.

Ah ok must be the new I30 that has the same engine. I never thought i would say this but its a great engine. Goes well and very quiet and much smoother than the BMW i had for a while lol

I do think the engine in the newer hyundai is better its just I'm not a fan of the rest of the car I don't find it comfortable, well laid out or easy to get myself in and out of. Its also too big, TERRIBLE on speed humps, has poor visibility, alloys too easy to kerb and terrible if your not on a level tarmac road.

Also neither phase of i30 handles anywhere near as well as a shitty astra

Yep, that's the one, when the guy was showing me everything he said it was shit.. Although the screen is touch so it kinda makes the trackpad pointless.

I had a feeling from first seeing this thread would be a vectra or insignia :L. I've had a few hire cars before and the worst was a courtesy hire car when my 207 got written off. I was given a Chevrolet Aveo. It stayed on my drive. Constantly, only had it as it was coming from the 3rd party which did a hit and run and I thought id make an expense on them. If anything I was doing the accident repair place a favour. The body roll was atrocious and the alarm went off. Well. Whenever. And the 2 times I did drive it. Battery was flat. >.> nationwide repair centre supply some right crap

Nice! Don't think Avis/enterprise will be giving those out any time soon though.
Tbh I'd hate having a nice car for a day, would always be wanting it afterwards lol.
