I know some people on here might find you a bit glum and depressing most of the time, but you're still one of us, even if you don't own a 306 any more (unless you buy Ricky's.....DO IT!!! You know you want to.

Meh, 35mpg from a 1.8 compared to 45mpg from the Vec (and not forgetting diesel costs 8p more a litre) theres actually not much in it. 150 miles costs an extra fiver in the 1.8, and that's about a fortnights worth...
Plus this cost £625 (plus £20 delivery) with 106k miles, 9 months MOT and 6 months tax......find me a Y reg HDi like that for a similar price lol. Then add the price of a lift pump, clutch, MAF etc...and the stupid extra insurance for mapping a HDi to the same power as a 1.8 lol, I specifically chose the 1.8 over a diesel, it wasn't an accident.

Oh its not what I wanted at all....could've had a 1.8t Mk4 for a grand, same MPG, tax, slightly more insurance and a load more spec....but kept missing out on them by a few quid on ebay each time lol!  Yeah meridian spec, needed the 5 doors and didn't want anything too poverty spec lol. Phase 4 as well.
