Tbh, I have come across one that wouldn't move with the breaker bar on the ground, Dumdum hitting the socket onto the hub with a BFO hammer and me trying to drive the car away, we tried heat, shock, buzz gun, everything. Ended up taking the whole hub off.

		uhhh yeah if your changing the wheel bearing lots & lots & lots & lots & lots &lots of heat & a BFO bar.
 
 If your not changing a wheel bearing then buy yourself a new wheel bearing and do the same lol

		Get a decent blow torch and heat it for like 20 mins, was the only way i got mine off, clear any thing you dont want to damage with heat out the way, keep an eye on the CV make sure it dosnt get to hot. try to heat the nut more than the end of the shaft, job should be a goodun

		Well i got the nut off.... had to rent a impact driver from a tool hire place and got told 
"if this takes off nuts on railways and iron girders, and wont take that nut off you can keep the impact driver..."
 
But yeah it did get it off, and after looking through the service history to see if it was done recently, the last wheel bearing change was in 2001, and done by Arriva (Bus company) so yeah, that will be why.
 
And yeah Chris there was 2 ball bearings missing when only the top half came out. I'll upload a picture.

		Just FYI, buy a breaker bar next time. They're circa £20-30, probably the same or less than the hire of the gun. You can use it for so much more aswell, and you will own it    
I got mine on trade from Halfords for £15, never looked back

		The Haynes book of lies has an interesting technique for this, which involves putting the spare wheel on, putting the socket through the hole in the centre of the wheel and doing it that way, with the car lowered back on the ground. Means you can get a bit more leverage.
 Had to do both of my driveshafts this year, it's not a fun job. Fortunately for me both hub nuts came off without much of a fight...

		For anyone wanting to try the above method...it doesn't work with swallows, the centre cap holes aren't quite big enough for the socket!

Yeah I had to rent one to get mine off, still took about 20 minutes of constant going to get it off.
