if its a 306 then there is no BSI.
however your profile says you have a 206, most of these do.
it does sound like an ignition switch issue, relay could also give similar symptoms as they can stick when hot especially if the casing is broken.
never take an old vehicle to a dealer! they cost too much and are never interested in old cars.
