In fairness she should of spoke to you about the holiday with her parents and using the money that was planned to give you to her to you. If shed of asked it wouldn't be as bad of at least offered to split.
My misses is the same. She expects me to pay for everything. Says I'm doing cos she only works 9 hours a week yet she has 2.5k sat in the bank. And here my bank always say a big fat zero

Bah that is out of order ... she should of said to her parents she was already committed to paying you back and that to go on the family holiday she wouldn't be able to pay for it.
However you just have to talk to her, and if she says she feels guilty about not paying her parents then it might bea good idea for you to suggest talking to her dad about it (as long as he doesn't hate your guts), as I'm sure he'd be more understanding of the situation and then would say you gf wouldn't have to pay towards the family holiday.

Well throwing my 2 cents in, I've paid a lot of Canada this month, and also have a family holiday later in the year to pay for next month, so I'm a little tight on money. However, if I knew I couldn't pay it, I would have said to my parents that I'm definitely up for it, however due to the first holiday I can't stump up the money for quite a while. Then ask if there's any way they could pay my half and I'd pay it back later on/as and when I had it.
She's made the commitment to you, and regardless of it being a family holiday, she should have looked at ways of affording and paying off the two. Definitely have a calm discussion about it and explain how you feel, as if you go in guns blazing you'll be in the wrong!

Personally you are insane for wanting to buy a Citroen brand new. In-sane. But that's besides the point...
With my ex I made this error, paying for her to have everything. As a bloke you tend to be the bread-winner (sorry girls) in a relationship as there are more higher-paid opportunities open to us at a younger age.

My mrs expects us to move out in the summer but at present she only has a part-time job and her hours are being cut...she's now pregnant too. She says that she will never go on benefits because she doesn't agree with it, but the truth is there is no way we are moving out on my wage alone, as I would end up paying for everything on top.

Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

Yeah congrats! And also, just to balance things out a little: I'm the "bread winner" in our relationship and I'm more than happy for Paul to move in with me even though he probably won't have a job or any other income when it happens. Don't know if that's me being naive but we know we can live on my salary (as it is what we had before with Paul's money + my student loan/jobs). To me it depends what stage of a relationship you're in, tbh, I've committed myself to spend the rest of my life with Paul so what's mine is his, and what's his is mine, right?!

As for the main thing, there's no f*cking way I'd stand for that. I'm going away in June, and my lass is paying for half of it. I'd pay for her if she didn't have the money, but if some money turned up i'd expect her to help me pay for it!

Niall she should have spoke to you and said about her family holiday and the fact she has to pay but then again she should have had the same convo with her dad....then maybe you and the dad may have chatted about it BUT then again (no offense intended) she she not be a greedy lady and go on both knowing she cannot pay for both....so she knows she is taking someone for a ride!
be really calm (this will freak her out lol) and have a chat, i would ask her questions like the following but more tactfully....

Wheres the fairness that i have work all the hours god sends to pay for OUR complete holiday on my own, i can only afford 1 holiday this year because of it so do you think its fair you and get 2 holidays? - how would you feel if roles were reversed?
what happens if unfortunate things happen and i cannot afford to pay for the whole holiday? i was 100% budgeting on your money to pay towards the holiday?

Me and my partner go halves on the total cost of our hols, so we both pay half for charlie and it stops any arguments about money lol....its worked for everything between us so...apart from me paying to repair the car after shes hit it pmsl
