I totally agree.......so many nice petrols at the meet on Saturday......then I got back to my 4.5k limited, transit engine lol......
Diesels do have a place though - cheap tax and lots of mpgz!

On topic, I didn't realise this car was in such a state lol, the distance pics make it look ok! Not gonna lie, I don't like Dimma's, but sounds like it should be good time you've finished.

Not sure, i have had a look over and cant see too much wrong, will just have to wait and see, although it doesnt matter to much if it does fail as the curernt MOT doesnt end till 25th march, just thought i would get it in early incase it fails badly!

I picked the Dimma up from the MOT station earlier and its bad news, 2 pages of failures!!
Some of them are easy repairs some arent so good!!

Front headlamps arent the same colour
Nearside headlamp aim too high
Offside headlamp aim too low
Missing both side repeaters
Brake load sensing valve seized
Nearside front brake hose excessively deteriorated
Offside front brake hose twisted
Nearside rear brake hose excesively deteriorated
Offside cv boot insecure
Nearside cv boot deteriorated
Offside front tyre
Nearside front antiroll bar drop link
Nearside ball joint has excessive play
Nearside rear trailing arm bush has excessive play
Offside rear brake pipe leaking
Side lights not working
Number plate light not working
Handbrake efficiency

Along with a list of advisories:

Front and rear pads low
Lower suspension arms modified but not seriopusly weakened
Steering rack modified
Driveshafts modified
nearside front and rear tyres low
Vehicle lowered
No spare wheel

We also took it to the body shop today, and its going to be getting a full respray staying the same colour if it can be matched as its not the original colour of the car, all the dents sorted, all the rust sorted etc, its going to be rather expensive but should look amazing once it has been done!!!

Sounds like a lady garden of an MOT tester. He obviously saw it was a highly modified car, noticed it had a fair list of problems and decided to go to town on trying to pick out every little problem, expecting you to just say 'oh f*ck it!'
Meh, I bet he had a lovely drive home in what was probably a 20 year old ford escort to his wife that doesnt love him so he could sit and watch tv for the evening before wanking himself to sleep with his own tears. Arsehole.

All the "modified" advisories are bollocks, it is a real dimma car converted by them so f*ck all is modified! They are custom made parts, just not stock 306 ones!

Also half most of that lost is bollocks, I personally would take it somewhere else to someone who isn't a complete cock!

Yep see above^^^ most of that is bolloxs also the indicators are a seperate unit and can be seen from the side, only if headlights and indicators are 1 unit do you need side repeaters , knob jockey tester imo

That tester's ears must be burning after that lot, point though.

Pretty horrendous list of failures mate, fair play for tackling it head on. Be good to see this brought back up to a high standard, was wasted on the last guy.

the spare wheel is not even looked at in an MOT, does he advise every Mini driver that they dont have a spare wheel because they dont have one from new

Most of it is an easy fix anyway, some bulbs, sort out the alignment, i have a set of braided hoses, and the rear trailing arm bushes seem to be a common problem, was going to stick 4 new tyres on when i got the wheels refurbed, the handbrake will be because the pads and discs need replacing and as for side repeaters springs says he put some orange leds on the wing mirrors for the MOT

If the spare is there then it has to be fit for purpose!! if it's not there its not an advisory, it's bollox I asked my tester about side repeaters on mine and he said they haven't got to be there
