Ide have attempted forward, as long as he didn't stop dead he would have made it, but even if he failed more, the entertainment would have been soo much better.

Haha, being a member of The Institute, I was driving to my observers house, upon which I realised I had made an awful mistake and I was about eight hours too early. I then decided I would have a play on the marsh land outside his house and promptly got the vehicle stuck. I was also low on fuel so I walked about a 2/3rds of a mile through fields and boggy marshland alongside a busy A road to fetch some spare fuel, because of course I didn't want the added hassle of air getting into the pump. I then returned to refuel my vehicle and attempted to get it out. It was a mele of pushing and digging and easying it out but eventually the sense of relief when it was freed was immense. Luckily my observer was at work so didn't witness the debacle.
