Gettout, lagged is when its up the windows and your struggling to see out...;-)

So do I have to drive through even more mud? Smile
I got the MBC mounted up tonight so a bit better than held with cable ties. When I put the pipes back on I did my favourite trick of putting the pipes the wrong way round Sad Got it boosting about 24psi now so will see how that goes.

Pics tomorrow
fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

....so what is it when you fool yourself twice Tongue Rofl
I couldn't see which pipe was coming from where. I knew what the problem was at least this time
....then I drove it to confirm Big Grin

Car does pull well, nice early spool and pulls through the range well at 24-25psi

Would be happy with this setup for a daily drive with the added poke.
A few pics of how I mounted my MBC

So awesomely tidy. But seriously, have you washed it yet?

Nope. Tomorrow I will
So the car had got pretty dirty

So I gave it a wash and a quick polish

Bad news is that some rust is coming through on the roof again Sad

But I did put a new sticker on

I have a slight problem with the passenger side light misting up

I took it off and drilled a few wholes in the bottom so I hope that will help stop it misting up
Fully porn with clean wheels Smile
the holes may well increase the misting dood.

need to dry it out really well with cap off back...like in sun with a hot air gun too...be careful not to melt it though!
then seal it all up really well.

mine were misting up after doing masks...left caps off back and in sun for afternoon...
then caps back on and been fine since
Seeeee does it not look way better clean? Wink

I thought it was yours lol
Yes it looks similar to Darren's but there are a lot of differences! It's just people see a black ph1 with white wheels and angel eyes so it looks the same

That's what I did lmao
After all this rain today I now have a problem with it getting to the relays. I would imagine that it's coming in by the wiper motor so I will take that out tomorrow and have a look
(28-09-2013, 09:40 AM)darrenjlobb Wrote: [ -> ]haha this is freaky, I saw that muddy photo, and god, its just like a photo I have of mine!!

I was thinking as I saw that pic 'Wait, am I on Jlobbs thread?!'..
So I had a look into the reason why I had relays full of water the other day. So took the wiper motor out and there was some crap underneath that may have been blocking the drain hole

I cleaned all that out but also the plug that goes through to the dash was cracked on the top so I put some trust gaffer tap over that. I hope it has sorted it but not sure yet as haven't had any more heavy rain.

I have a few other bits that I wanted to look at so I popped into work on Saturday. I got a few noises that are annoying me which 1 sounds like a air leak when I boot it but after a well it stops so I was thinking maybe a slight exhaust gas leak so I checked the exhaust manifold was all tight and any other places I fort it may of been coming from but could find any thing that was causing it and it still does it so that's a bit of a pain. Also I have a 'snack' noise coming from under the car usually over bumps which I fort sounded like exhaust but yet again I cant find anything that I think can be causing that. The only thinks I can think it could poss now be is the heat shield that clips to the steering rack or my rear axle which brings me on to the fact my axle how has play on the driver side so I will have to fit another axle sometime.

Carrying on with the bad news my central locking decided to start playing up on the driver door. So I had a look into that and the drivers door loom isn't looking to happy

I found 2 broken wires so I sorted that but I want to fit another loom sometime soon. But by fixing the wires I now have my auto window on the driver side working and the driver side electric mirror working but not the passenger side for some reason.

And to top it all of every now and then on full boost I have clutch slip so will have to fit a new clutch sometime soon. I should of prob fitted a new 1 when I put the engine in but I wanted to save a bit of money and the clutch that is on it isn't really that old. I will prob wait till it gets worse till I change it and I think I will fit a valeo clutch

Other than all them bad bits I am absolutely loving it. Loving the pull of it and getting over 500 miles to a tank Smile
Im thinking that my 'snacky' noise is the axle. The more I drive it with my head out the window. So I think that the axle should be towards the top of my to do list.

Also currently refurbing some cylcones to spray gunmetal grey and prob have them as some winter wheels
How have you done so much work on this car and allowed an eco-system to grow there lol

Bloody electrics!

Nooo, if they're winter wheels, do something lairy. I've wanted to get some glow in the dark paint from halfords and do some in that!

Sorry lads im going to be boring and go with gun metal grey
So rear axle has been changed. Did it last night and finished it off this morning. Thanks to Mark for helping me out. Lowered it at the same time as it would be easier which it was but as usual I got pretty stressed out and angry when lowering the axle and the torsion bars didn't want to give in easily but I got them out in the end. Axle bearings are all fine just a little bit of wear on the driver side trailing arm. I lowered it bout 30mm but it looks standard height so may have to lower another 30mm. At least I know it will all came apart pretty easy now.

The clutch is getting pretty bad now so will maybe turn the boost down and get a new clutch ordered up. Will make some phone call to find a good price and maybe change it next week
frosty if you have had water come in the car cause the water ways blocked the wiper motor will need stripping and cleaning out as it will rust up and sieze because it gets submerged in the water in the leaf litter

this happened to mine

It wasn't to bad to be honest. The hole didn't even seem to be blocked. But water was getting in some how. I have plenty of spare wiper motors as well but hopefully it wont need changing
So a pic of how the car is sitting at the moment after the axle change

And a pic of transporting the axle in the back of the car to get it down to my work

So now my wiper motor has started to play up now. Im sure its down to Cully! So I will get that changed sometime this week.

I went up to see Chris on Sunday night to pick up some bits. Got some grey cyclones so I now don't have to rush doing the 1s I got

And got some 60mm lowering springs

It was an eventfully trip on the way back when I ran out of fuel about 12 miles from home. Don't think mother was to impressed with the 11 O'clock phone call

Bit of an update on the clutch situation as well. Im going for a CG 4 paddle un sprung friction plate (which I ordered today) with a standard pressure plate which I got a brand new valeo clutch set up for a bargain price

More updates soon
