Hmm that sounds like hassle. I know of a Citroen specialist in the next town who have the equipment, wonder what they'd charge...

Hmm, from what I can work out you need a brand new key and then reprogram it. That sounds a little expensive. So a phase 3 key can't be reprogrammed basically? Sad

Will just have to be very careful with the key I've got!

Tbh, I'd get another cut with no immob chip just incase you lock your keys in the car....atleast you can get in then, although not start the engine obv.

It comes with one key/chip/remote thing and one key without the buttons, so I already have a spare. The key buttons look knackered though so I was trying to work out whether I needed a brand new key/transponder or if Niall could wipe and re-write a second hand key with his fancy software...

^That...make sure you swap the immob chip lol, seen people forget it several times....

Plus, a second hand key will more than likely have crap buttons anyway lol.

As I type this, there is a 306 parked out my window with my name on it Smile

Boot popper is in the post. I had a hard time convincing people it was ok that I couldn't open the boot on my new car haha!

Keys are easy, I had the rallye key "cloned" on the local lock smiths, they cut the blade then put the key in the machine, took it out placed the fresh cut one one and it copied it. I asked him if I need to do anything and he said it will just do exactly the same as the other.

I mainly got it incase I forget an somehow lock my keys in. But as it works I'm using it as the daily key and the original is at home. Cost me £25

Why have you ordered a boot popper?

You already have one in the boot for the central locking which is no longer connected to anything as the lock has gone, why don't you just use that? Mine works perfectly!

I may need to pay your locksmith a visit then; I don't fancy not having a spare key for mine.... :S

Ed if all you want is a spare to start the car, buy a second hand key off eBay and I'll program it. Just means the RCL won't work on that key.

Ah cool OK, so just a second hand key off of eBay or a breakers should do the trick? They'll just copy my key over?

After my third journey in the car I have a little list of to-do's...

1. Install the boot popper (bits are in the post...)
2. Sort out the passenger high-beam as it doesn't work
3. Sort out the clock / temp display illumination as it comes and goes...
4. Sort out the 'spaztastic' windscreen wipers. I'm pretty sure this is a case of cleaning the contacts?
5. Line the dashboard with something to stop the rattles
6. Dashboard lights, I may look into turning the whole illumination blue to match the boost gauge. One of the bulbs is a bit reluctant to come on sometimes...
7. Convert some of the lights to LEDs

Some stuff can wait, whereas the boot opening is kind of important. The last thing I want is a site visit and not be able to get my PPE out of the boot because it won't open. Lolz.

Anyone got a spare Haynes kicking about?

erm, yeah.........lol. you require nothing more than a bicycle spoke to link it to the boot release and some re-wiring to whatever you want to activate it with.

Also if you want a PDF copy of the haynes I can send you it tonight if you PM me your e-mail Smile

Aw cheers Marky Mark.

A bicycle spoke you say...

Is it possible to wire in a boot popper and retain the rear wiper? I know it's the 'done thing' to remove the rear wiper but I kinda like it. I'll only remove it if I need to...

yeah, just cut it to length and bend the ends around the hooks on the solenoid and the catch.............you could wire it up however you like TBH, it would just require getting wires into the boot which should be fairly simple to do via the rubber tube thing that all the others are inside! Mine is wired to the rear wiper switch on the stalk as I don't have a wiper so the wiring was there already Smile

So Niall, I've got 3 keys from my old '6 kicking about still; one skeleton key with no buttons at all, and 2 remote keys, one with no battery. All 3 blades fitmy old '6 though.
Can you program the fob to unlock my new car then? Or is it the immobiliser you're reprogramming then? I'm confused?

Ideally if you can reprogram the RCL & Immob to my car, then I can get a blade cut and then it'll be a fully functioning spare...? Smile

Anyone know the part numbers for the actual bare key fob (without blade) but with buttons? Mine looks knackered and has no keyring on it as that's broken off..Sad

OK Pug want £90 odd for a fob case, 2 buttons and the little screw! F That.

Will a fob with the LED hole in it be OK for my phase 3 remote one? As mine doesn't have that LED. As long as the gubbins inside still fits the same...

Ed I can program the immobiler but probably not the RCL. Sometimes it works but more often than not it doesn't.
Bring them to ace on Saturday and we will have a go. Worst case is you will just have 2 extra keys that start the car (when you get the blade cut of course) and that's it.
