They are heavey compared to most cars. Service stuff try Opie Oils, they're very good they do kits with everything in one go.
Doesnt even own a 306.

Mines really light for a xud a new cable may lighten it up? No guarantee though

they should not be heavy, that certainly is not "how they all are" most common cause is actually the bushes on the cross shaft in the gearbox have worn and the shaft is rusty, coupled with a tired clutch cable, also tired pressure plate springs will become stiff.

You can't say that 306 clutches are not notoriously heavy? I changed everything on my '6. Gear box, clutch (genuine), cable, and yes, bushes too. It was lighter for about 5 minutes...

Heavy clutch is standard issue on all 306's.

no it certainly is not, you should feel the clutch on my gti6 engined ZX 16v, granted it is not feather light without feel like anything modern, but it sure isn't "heavy"

clutch on my GTI6 is light compared to my HDI, hdi feels real heavy

Lose the spring behind the clutch pedal, it's prob full of poo. Helped mine.
