306OC Trackday - Llandow Open Pit - Wednesday 25th February
#1
Following on from a track time thread, I've spoken to Niall and he's agreed I can run an exclusive track day for you all.

To confirm a booking we need at least 20 cars. This makes the day £100 per car - this is the MAXIMUM you will pay.

We can take up to 30 cars, if we reach this number the cost will be £70 per car then you will all receive a £30 refund ON THE DAY - handy for fuel!

Second drivers/passengers are free of charge.

When?

Wednesday 25th February

How do I secure my place?

Deposits will be £50 (non-refundable when we reach 20 names).

You can pay via:
  • Cash: To Myself or Ruan
  • Bank transfer: Please send a PM for account details.

Deposits need to be paid by 1st January to secure your place!

When is full payment due?

Saturday 31st January.

What happens on the day?

The days tend to go like this...

10.00 - 10.30 - Novice Session
10.30 - 11.00 - Session 2
11.30 - 12.00 - Session 3
12.00 - 12.30 - Session 4
12.30 - 1.00 - Lunch
1.00 - Dark - Open Pit

Theoretically you can have 4.5 Hours on track, but your tyres, brakes and fuel, won't last that long.

The Novice session is there for us more experienced track drivers to passenger and offer advice if required.

THERE IS NO DRIFTING ALLOWED, ANYONE DRIVING DANGEROUSLY OR DISRESPECTFULLY WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE CIRCUIT WITHOUT REFUND

This is just too far away for me I just cant justify driving there. If there is a decent number of names down and people from closer to me to convoy with then I will put my name down.

Good idea though and its a cracking bargain. best of luck.

A little note for people going.. Take some spare tyres.. It eats them especially on the near side front lol

I'd be interested to know how this would operate.

Open pit? Drive on / off freely?

Tyre changing facility?

Tyres for sale as well as changing facility?

Can part of the track / an area be sectioned for drifting?

I have never seen tyres for sale on a normal track day. I think thats probably more drift specific...

The morning is split into 30 minute sessions, this allows a novice only sessions (or two) that more experienced drivers can accompany. Lunch is at 12, then all afternoon is open pit.

No, as said bring spares.

No, drifting is for gays.

No, drifting is for gays.

So novice drivers on for 30 minutes, then everyone on, then lunch at 12, everyone on again.

"Accidental back end action" is allowed (hang back, make sure no ones behind, go for it like a hero).

As for 'Accidental Back End Action' - isn't that what 306oc is all about?

As for drifting, get caught you'll be told off, get caught a lot you'll be kicked off Wink

Right I get you. So first session aim to destroy tyres, maybe pop some boost hoses, shit some drive shafts or something to tie you over for a couple of hours.

Hmm, don't like the sound of that, me and a friend would be 100% committed to putting a deposit down if it wasn't a problem.. Not worth risking £100 for the sake of "you might get kicked off".

End of april would suit me better and lets just have it as a 306oc track day.

I think I need to work out the costs a little more too as it could get bloody expensive.

155 miles away, 310 miles return trip thats 10 gallons of fuel. Add 4.5 hours on track with an estimated average speed of 60mph and doing an estimated 15mpg is 4 gallons per hour or 18 gallons total so for the day thats 28 gallons at £6 per gallon totalling £168

Plus potentially a pair of front tyres for the federal 959RSRs that are going on my spare wheels is £125.

Plus the track fee at £100

Plus anything I break

Realistically £400. Hmmmmmmmmm

I think I'll let you know closer to the time.

306oc track day is not a viable option as i dont see 20 interested parties it needs to be opened up to others to get the numbers Wink
Thanks given by:

open it up to another club I would say. I dont think you will get the 20 needed here. Better to have more than too few!

Do we have to be in french car? If it doesn't.matter about what car I'm in I'm game I'll put my name down!

I dont see the issue with it being a multi club event? put a bit of variety into the day! Big Grin half the people on 306oc dont drive 306's anyway..
