yeah the escort in general now is a rare sight to see now, I think the scrappage scheme binned the last of those off, plus with the ford focus kicking off, that sort of killed the sales of later escorts.

£500 for mine p/x in 2006 for the 306 dturbo. Saw the dealer sell it for £1300 to weeks later. Haven't traded a car in since

5 years ago I was seeing late Escorts being scrapped due to corrosion from the inside out. No doubt thats the main reason!
Wishes for more power...

Yeah it's still on the road. Every car I've ever owned in still on the road. Even my dturbo which I sold in 2008 with 120k on the clock! So god knows how many miles it's done now!

Escorts are liable to rust, mine was going on the sills a little bit but was otherwise solid.

I've seen a few Fiat 500's while driving around Central London and the other day saw a Nova 1.4 saloon. Was kinda amazed at the Nova as never seen a saloon one before.

One of the 500's looked great as it had been restored. Just wanted to put it in the back of the van and run away.

I saw a mint coloured one, immaculate, driving through Knightsbridge a few weeks ago. Was a right picture. Huge italian looking bloke, slick back grey hair, wayfarers on and a fooking huge cigar on the go and he just didnt give a f*ck what was going on around him.....doing about 10 mph getting in everyones way haha

It was nice looking at some of the old cars Smile

Got an allegro round the back of my brother's we have been meaning to sort out.

Just looked up some of my/my close family's ex-cars... I wasn't sure which one pulled the heart strings more while going through them, then I saw the Colt Celeste, I may have to find one now.

Edit : Actually, thinking/looking back, my Dad/Uncles had some tasty cars.

Edit : I just saw a (Pontiac) Sunfire, and I /swear/ I could smell my old car! (obviously not a car you see over here at all.)

we have loads of the New style reg from the 2001 era, mind not as many as there used to be. the last of the 90s  plates are just still knocking about, and that's on the French motors funny enough! Anything from the early 90s like mine are considered retro or classic.

I don't think you will see another one on that age of plate, as they were just say coming out if I am right? its a bit like finding a early corsa or a late nova. even mine with it been a very early mk3 are not that common tbh. more J plate ones knocking about tbh. As they were launched I think mid 1990.

We did have most of the parts sorted, but its also been stood under a tarp longer than either one of us expected.

We had valves fitted on the spheres and they were ok after we had them gassed, hopefully they are still ok.

Cairo was epic for this, so much variety on the roads, everything from 60's onwards. It was sort of organised into age, really:

Really old (60s) - VW vans and beetles, assorted Soviet stuff.
Pretty old (70s) - Peugeot 504s EVERYWAHHHH (the 504 GL estate is hailed as the best car of all time there), Ladas aplenty and lots of old Fiat Saloons too
A bit old (80s) - Still lots of Peugeot, Lada and Fiat, with occasional Citroens and Renaults. Japanese stuff starting to creep in
Not that old (90s) - Completely dominated by japanese marques, as well as some obscure Turkish/Romanian/Russian stuff
Newish (00s) - The Korean Invasion, Kias and Hyundais dominate, with not much else. A smattering of Peugeots, and Jap Crap.
New (10s) - The Chinese Invasion, Great Walls, BYDs and all the rest. A few Peugeots, mainly as posh cars to ferry guests from expensive hotels around
