XUD *over boosting* ?
#1
Hello everyone, basically the question i'm asking is... Can you make a d turbo create more boost than is needed for the fuelling? I'm running a Lucas and a K14 (at 18 psi) atm and i'm still creating a lot of smoke on boost. I know why etc. However, with my MBC, if i was to wind it to the fully "+" position, will it be boosting 38 psi or whatever or will the fuelling limit the boost created? I'm not too clued up on how the fuelling can control boosting, so if someone could explain it would really help, thanks Smile

i don't think you can, believe you need fuel to create boost . .Smile
Phase 1 D-Turdo, K14@24 psi, De-cat, meaty backbox, Bosch pump, grinded LDA pin, duel air fed K&N =133.7bhp & 188ft/lbs

Reduce fuel or increase boost.

A k14 wont do 38psi....not with your setup!

So the boost will only go to what the fuelling can create?

As long as the engine can take it! Not 38 psi lmao, just a random figure!

Exactly, less fuel = less exhaust gas being produced = less pressure the turbo makes

Unless you bolt on a VNT and have 30psi at idle Wink

It's only because the stock turbos are crap that you can do this...

Most modern units will move so much air with so little exhaust gas it's unreal.
