What wax do you use?
#1
I'm really getting the detailing bug now the weather is nice!
I've just ordered snow foam and a lancets have a go with at the weekend but I want to get some wax on there as there isn't any at the moment.
Normally I use zymol wax. It leaves a fantastic deep gloss (and smells of bananas.....lovely!) but doesn't last long at all and now I'm running out, am thinking of trying something different.
Price isn't really an issue providing its a wax that will last well....none of this £1500 swisswax though!

Cheers guys

Well I'm a lazy yshit so I try the easier waxes lol. Rinse off wax is awesome for about 2 weeks and is so quick. But for longer I used TW liquid wax....good for about a month...or until the car is washed twice lol. Today I've tried gold class megs liquid wax (also stinks of banana...who wants a car smelling of banana lol?) So will let you know how well this one lasts.....

If you want an 'effort' wax though, nattys blue is good. Smile

Zymol blue you using? If so I thought it smelt of coconuts. It's a cleaner wax it semi polishes the surface hence the cleaner bit. Iv used it before and it's great on dark cars. If your getting into your detailing then a paste wax would be good I. Your case nattys blue is great on dark cars and last longer and smells good. It's quite simple to apply if you use the Farecla g3 wax applicator it's the same size as the pot so you use every last bit and applies just as good as a liquid wax does. Got to have the correct cureing times too as paste wax can be stubborn when not fully cured. A spritz of water helps a little go along way

SRP as a polish, followed by Natty's Blue paste wax, comes up a treat on dark cars! I also used it on Fooby's 6 which is diablo red and that came out very well too

Finnish Kare FK1000p (technically a sealant...) on Sundance Yellow:

Think I prefer the HD wax on deeper colours, and brings out the fleck nicely on metallic and pearlescent paint. The FK1000p is better for gloss and solid colours and adds definition to the reflections, it's what i'll be using on the estate this year most likely, along with FK#425 quick detailer, which smells AMAZING

Yep zymol blue. As said, fantastic, just doesn't last long.
I was looking at nattys. They do a limited edition red one at the mo which I was going to get just for the smell lol.
Was looking t either nattys blue or meguiars gold wax

from what iv seen of A/G HD wax is that its not very long lasting and expensive when you compare it to the like of poor boys paste waxes. But does appear to give reasonable results. i tend to get good results with farecla g3 super resin wax as a base wax for protection then a layer of megs crystal canubra wax

Another Nattys Blue user here, really good wax IMO and lasts well too!

Have been considering trying something else from the likes of dodo juice as I have heard good things about it as well but never got round to it yet lol

Niall you can use some more of mine if you want to give it a try instead of buying a whole pot.

I've already got some of the megs crystal wax. Was impressed with the finish but literally within a couple of days it was starting to deteriorate. Think I'm going to go with nattys blue or a dodo one. Didn't really think about dodo last night but all of their products that I have so far have been amazing! (and normally smell good and are funky colours....important when your special like me)

Mark I'd agree it smells amazing. Too tempting not to do the 'one for me, one for you' routine...a lick of wax for the car, a lick of wax for me lol
