right ive heard alot of rumors and possibly uneducated stories of people saying that saxo/106 springs will fit 306 shocks and 206 struts will fit 306 hubs ?? just wondered what combinations people have tried and what have worked ?

my advice would be dont, i believe saxo springs do fit and im sure 206 struts probably fit loking at them, but they're both lighter cars then the 306 so the damping rates and spring rates will be completely wrong

People fit Saxo springs to slam their cars. They will also ruin the handling completely.

Fitting Xsara VTS struts to a 306 stiffens the handling and lowers the car slightly.... Nothing wrong with that.

106/206 stuff though...why bother lol!

Nothing wrong with that as essentially the 306 and xsara are very similar cars , but the op was on about 106/saxo or 206 which imho is a big no no, as there is a massive weight difference between a saxo/106 and a 306.
I have heard about the Xsara vts strits, do they make a nice difference, are they the same as 6 struts

I think they make a nice difference yeah. Smile Car sits level front to rear and they're stiffer without being crashy like lowering springs often are (with the exception of Eibachs).

The springs are different to GTi6 ones, and the damper is slightly shorter afaik.

thanks for the replies, and i was only wondering what the pros and cons were (obviously more cons) only pro i found was that saxo/106 stuff seems more plentyful and cheaper Tongue p.s. looking for any 306 40mm springs or coilys if anyone has any.

no im on standard suspension atm but want a 40mm drop, but being poor ive only got about £100-£150 to spend and yet i want decent stuff :L i could just buy some decent new springs but really want to try and get a full set up of decent shocks too

if you want a better than standard setup and not so fussed about drop, then maybe a set of gti6 shocks / springs would be a decent cheap upgrade

I've heard the 206 coilovers fit, they might be a better option than struts which are a bit more weight specific

I had Saxo springs on my xsi, 30mm springs and it was at least 80mm down, handled like a pig too

All suspension is weight specfic. It suspends the mass of the vehicle. A random set-up from a different car will almost certainly be worse.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

The guy I got my estate off put 106 60mm springs on the car and it's shit. Drives like crap and was even worse with the leaking dampers that were on it, bounced all over the place!
