New Daily - Fiat Punto Grande 1.9 MJet - Added Pictures
#31
My Fiancee has 1.2 Grande punto ashamed to admit it but it's nice to drive, must be common on these tar on side did hers other day and took me a good hour with tar remover to get it all off, still some on boot I missed Undecided

As for corrosion on springs I've replaced hers twice on drivers side once on passenger fronts, also be wary of the heaters been known to cause fires due to the loom burning out, spent about £250+ on her heaters and needs another loom again for it!

How fiat still make cars it's beyond me thought they would learn from previous mistakes but still building cars with loads of faults. They don't even recall them for the issues.......

Any way good luck with it Wink

Interesting stuff Chris.

Mentioned the "corroded springs" to the techies and they don't think it'll be an issue.

Apparently springs can be corroded for years before they actually NEED replacing.

Should have said I replaced the springs because they snapped not because of corrosion. No idea what caused them to snap but when first one snapped it was only on 30,000miles and it's only on 40,000 now.

Did they trade suspension springs with Vauxhall for Diesel engines? Sounds about as good as Vaux springs....though most Vec Cs are on their 3rd set by 8 years old. lol

That's that sorted then! How harsh are they likely to be compared to stock springs as my commute is all bumpy B roads..

My eibach on b4's on the 106 is quite comfy, bit stiffer than standard but not stupid stiff, I fly around doing 100mile a night over bumps all time etc think there best springs I've ever had tbh, and when u throw it in to a corner they handle extremely well like no other set up I've had before. Highly recommend from me

There's a reason for that. Wink

Looks tidy dude, haven't seen much tuning info about on that engine. As said, if it was the z19dth it'd be a different matter, the alfa boys do wonderful things to that engine.

On a Punto I couldn't say lol, but on a 306 they were no harsher than a Meridian in all honesty! But handled much better and removed body roll....

Cheers, the lacquer peel is really quite bad but like I said it was cheap!

To be honest the engine feels nice and lively, might just leave it stock and keep it cheap!

Can you blame me! 205 XUD for FWD diesel fun, Datsun for RWD petrol turbo fun and the "sensible" ginger thing for work!

Was that just done with tar remover? No clay? Good result tbh!

Lol at the engine though, that wouldn't even fit in the Punto. Tongue

Yeah just some tar remover, microfiber cloth and an hour of elbow grease to do most of the car.

Good engine swap isn't it!
