the PROPPER way of setting a bosch pump ?

Recently got my sedan on the road and can't help but think the pumps not set right so what's the proper way of doing it I've heard of a few ways but which one is the right way

Boost comp screw all the way out, max fuel in? Need to be more specific really.
Doesnt even own a 306.

Your not far from Jenks if you ask him nicely sure he will have it ripping the clutch to bits after about 5 mins Wink he did that to mine after I made a mess of setting pump up lol

You just gotta feed it in, if you cant work that out on your own then you should give up now. < No offence intended to op, people give out that answer like its some kind of secret when really anyone can feel whats happening through the pedal and how fast your going. If its coaling loads then it proably does need tinkering with...
Doesnt even own a 306.

Do you no what td04 you put on it? Is it the smallest one or one of the bigger ones? If it's one of the bigger ones that won't help

still hellish difference between a same size vnt and wastegate, especially if they're properly controlled. Tom (zx_volcane) has nailed it with his arduino control. You can make these diesels perform like they are fast non-turbos petrols just by having the torque so linear (I know you wouldn't want that but you get the idea) 250ftlb from the word go.

Yeah...we are all just waiting for GTB turbos to drop in price tbh...
All that effort to control VNT may aswell go on an even better turbo.

Aren't GTB all variable vane now?

I know the newer Mercs run GTB turbos and they go well

Oh yeah!!!

In lamens terms, Garrett started with "T" turbos, then "GTs", then "GT....VNT"...now the latest gen is "GTB....vlkr"

I was going compound, but Im going to save for a GTB now as they are just silly good at what they do!

and its very hard to find even little GTBs at less than £200...

I hunt everyother day for a sub £200 GTB2260 and not yet found one even close...most want £300-400!

We rang midland turbo, and a rebuild for the bigger GT23 was just shy of £400, that's new bearings, seals, internals etc.

ouch. Could buy 3 turbos for that price!!

yeah but the way I see it, is off a vacuum loses most of the advantages of VNT...so if you go through hassle of the VNT...set it up right like ZX_Volcane...

Nearly £850 FOR A TURBO. If you have the motivation and the money to throw at it, why not.

Not sure that turbo would be big enough for my M104...
