that was exactly my thinking, 106 needs work, but would go for more than the saxo right now, and will only increase....plus I've wanted one since I was about 12 haha

I don't see why people bother! 16vs seem abit pants from my experience! the 1.3 revs it's nuts off and sounds like a rally car!

16vs are good fun.
But nothing better than a little revvy 8v
That inlet makes them sounds nuts too

I bought some hub centric spacers from JJC rallying company (think they are owned by demon tweeks now) been on the car about 2 months, when I took them off to swap the saxo they have ALL fell apart! shocking quality, I've sent them back, rather not mess around with spacers....and always loved rallye steels

what a little beast! Saxo was a clean example but the 106 was definitely worth the swap, good choice mate.

I like the look of these, as they more sporty over the 106 s2 front end.
just needs a few things sorting out that's it, but remember its clocking on nearly 20 years old. so your are going to have a few bodges and niggles.

They always find something

what a nightmare this is! Peugeot stafford managed to send out the wrong bottom arms and drop links....so hopefully be all on and on its arse sometime in the week!

just a few little bits of rust to sort then and it's a minter again

the tester gave my car a right stiff test, and said sort this list and we will pass it,
since then the MOT tester wont fail it, even has a bit of a play with the car too, if they are not busy.

finally looking like one of my cars....haha

[Image: Snapchat-20131221014613_zps6cc7e3d2.jpg]

bit of a nightmare...pretty much assumed most things would be the same as a s1 vtr...far from it, more like a 205

spent a bomb on it in the passed week

strut top mounts and bearings
2 front wheel bearings
coil overs
2 new bottom arms (they haven't been changed since new!!)
drop links
new engine mount and buffer
106 GTI breaks on the front, refurbished 106 GTI rear axle
had to change the handbrake set up to that of a 106 gti!
new thermostat as someone had ripped the old one to pieces
s2 rallye steels...was too bloody low to fit under the rear arches, so needed fit some 175 tyres, just clears now

drive great now! no knocks, bangs, amazed how much better it seems to handle than the saxo! steers with it's arse end like a proper pug too!

All thats on the to do list now is

2" pugsport
new stickers
little bits of rust to touch/tidy up
ENJOY IT!

Looks better too on the steels...shame they yellow though Undecided

May find the back end a little skittish with those 175s

it does and doesnt, all depends on setup really. and how much you left foot brake!

but not much point encouraging it! lol

Must be sweet to drive though with all that work done Smile
