S1 106 Rallye - ezb - 18-11-2013 Just got this at the weekend swapped it for my winter car saxo vtr....still can't decide whos better off from this deal? 75k, immaculate rust free car with quite abit of work gone into it, but was a cat c for a totally stock....apart from the shocking wheels s1 rallye boot floor and under the drivers seat have been welded (by a moron by the looks of it!) little bit behind a headlight, think it needs a drive shaft, 12mot,6tax RE: S1 106 Rallye - Jimbo - 18-11-2013 Saxos are evwrywhere S1 rallyes will be worth money saxos wont RE: S1 106 Rallye - ezb - 18-11-2013 that was exactly my thinking, 106 needs work, but would go for more than the saxo right now, and will only increase....plus I've wanted one since I was about 12 haha RE: S1 106 Rallye - Jimbo - 18-11-2013 Yeah will always be worth more with.original engine too So much cooler than wen everyone 16vs them RE: S1 106 Rallye - ezb - 18-11-2013 I don't see why people bother! 16vs seem abit pants from my experience! the 1.3 revs it's nuts off and sounds like a rally car! RE: S1 106 Rallye - Jimbo - 18-11-2013 16vs are good fun. But nothing better than a little revvy 8v That inlet makes them sounds nuts too RE: S1 106 Rallye - 306carter - 18-11-2013 Needs rallye steels. Hope you keep a 1.3 8k screamer. Too many 16v s1's knocking about now. RE: S1 106 Rallye - Tom - 18-11-2013 God those wheels are gash arent they! Retro white cars ftw! RE: S1 106 Rallye - Chris_90 - 18-11-2013 S1 106's for the win! RE: S1 106 Rallye - Craigus - 18-11-2013 106 is smart! RE: S1 106 Rallye - Niall - 19-11-2013 Were you by any chance driving down the A12 the other day in this? Over took one and I'm sure it was this one! Don't see too many of these at all let alone ones on them bloody wheels lol RE: S1 106 Rallye - ozonehostile - 20-11-2013 Ooooo rallye fwend! Saxo was a clean example but the 106 was definitely worth the swap, good choice mate. RE: S1 106 Rallye - procta - 24-11-2013 I like the look of these, as they more sporty over the 106 s2 front end. just needs a few things sorting out that's it, but remember its clocking on nearly 20 years old. so your are going to have a few bodges and niggles. RE: S1 106 Rallye - ezb - 03-12-2013 rallye steels on deck!....FINALLY! ordered these off "pugplus" if anyone remembers him? now selling on ebay under another name SHOCKING service, took over two weeks of "they've been posted"...."oops forgot" for them to finally arrive!! AVOID Had a full service, tappets done, cambelt cover fitted, ditched the wheels for a temp vtr ones This weekend fingers crossed, have a big to do list gti rear beam coilovers new hubs gti front breaks new bottom arms new engine mount as mine went boom! new thermostat as car runs cold a feck! should be a brand new car then! RE: S1 106 Rallye - procta - 04-12-2013 it will be after all that! the mot tester wont fail it for a while! RE: S1 106 Rallye - ezb - 07-12-2013 They always find something what a nightmare this is! Peugeot stafford managed to send out the wrong bottom arms and drop links....so hopefully be all on and on its arse sometime in the week! just a few little bits of rust to sort then and it's a minter again RE: S1 106 Rallye - procta - 08-12-2013 (07-12-2013, 08:12 PM)ezb Wrote: They always find something the tester gave my car a right stiff test, and said sort this list and we will pass it, since then the MOT tester wont fail it, even has a bit of a play with the car too, if they are not busy. RE: S1 106 Rallye - Piggy - 08-12-2013 where abouts in Stafford are ya?...I grew up there! RE: S1 106 Rallye - heyziq - 08-12-2013 pretty RE: S1 106 Rallye - ezb - 24-12-2013 finally looking like one of my cars....haha bit of a nightmare...pretty much assumed most things would be the same as a s1 vtr...far from it, more like a 205 spent a bomb on it in the passed week strut top mounts and bearings 2 front wheel bearings coil overs 2 new bottom arms (they haven't been changed since new!!) drop links new engine mount and buffer 106 GTI breaks on the front, refurbished 106 GTI rear axle had to change the handbrake set up to that of a 106 gti! new thermostat as someone had ripped the old one to pieces s2 rallye steels...was too bloody low to fit under the rear arches, so needed fit some 175 tyres, just clears now drive great now! no knocks, bangs, amazed how much better it seems to handle than the saxo! steers with it's arse end like a proper pug too! All thats on the to do list now is 2" pugsport new stickers little bits of rust to touch/tidy up ENJOY IT! RE: S1 106 Rallye - Piggy - 24-12-2013 Sounds good!!! Looks better too on the steels...shame they yellow though May find the back end a little skittish with those 175s RE: S1 106 Rallye - ezb - 24-12-2013 yeah it likes to steer from the rear...but isn't that what old french shit does?? RE: S1 106 Rallye - ozonehostile - 24-12-2013 Looking good dude. You've done everything that's on the to do list on mine aha RE: S1 106 Rallye - Piggy - 24-12-2013 (24-12-2013, 04:50 PM)ezb Wrote: yeah it likes to steer from the rear...but isn't that what old french shit does?? it does and doesnt, all depends on setup really. and how much you left foot brake! but not much point encouraging it! Must be sweet to drive though with all that work done |
