Well, no.. Conversions usually cost shed loads more than if I'd gone out and bought a 328 to start with. I bought everything for this without getting a quote and was slightly worried. I was pleasantly surprised that it's now £500 a year, £102 more than before. Happy days! Big Grin

Will get a M50 at some stage, gotta get engine in first though!! Smile

Let me know what you want for LSD if you find it. Cheers

It's in! Few teething troubles though. Took about 8 hours start to finish (I didn't do much tbh!) and fired up ok Smile got to wait until Saturday to get it sorted though..

His 840 sounds awesome!

Map gives about an extra 10bhp peak and nearly 25bhp at 4.5k on otherwise standard engine. 'Box has got to come off Saturday as clutch is not desingaging properly. Also having difficulty find the correct pas pipe as guy I got engine off cut it off instead of undoing one bolt! I'll get there. Smile

Everyone thinks its all about big wheels - it's not!

The amount of quality part worn 16" tyres I get from Toyota is unreal.

Within a few days I'd acquired 10 decent tyres all of which are stocked up ready for fitment / drift days.

Obviously it doesn't look as "bad-man" or "stanced" or "epic" but I think with some decent spacers, a bit of arch rolling and a bit more of a tap with the lowering stick and the S14 will look fairly unique as no one uses the standard Nissan alloys!

The saga continues.. We had another bash Saturday and got a pas pipe to fit (bent by hand!). The clutch issue was erm.. The friction plate fitted the wrong way round (me mate was well pissed off he'd done this!) box came off twice and two bolts were/are a Complete pain to get to with the lump in. Engine is lumpy at tickover so we read the codes and replaced cam sensor/ pipe to icv/ cleaned icv/ tried another maf. Still lumpy Sad

On the drive home it wouldn't rev over 5.3k like it was hitting a limiter.. Some goggle time and help from others and another trip to Lynn with info, wire and a soldering iron sorted the revs Smile to do with using 318 diff with 328 engine and the abs speed sensor. It boiled up but it was a leaky rad cap which I've replaced now. My mate named the car Damien.. After it boiled up it gavee a message..[Image: arube4um.jpg]

I've sprayed easy start over all vacuum pipes and found a massive air leak where the icv connects to the manifold. I'm hoping this will sort the idle issue. Paid £12 postage for the grommet on Tuesday for next day. Was dispatched today. Joy...

Yo! Smile

Finally got somewhere..

It's not been without it's teething problems... It had a really rough idle and wouldn't run with the maf plugged in (amoungst lots of other bits..). On the drive home from Kev's it wouldn't rev over 5k like it was hitting a limiter. After some friendly advice I found out it's to do with the abs speed sensor and running a 318is diff with the m52 engine. After some soldering from pin 15 on the ecu to pin 2 on the blue plug on the back of the clocks we had full revs (7200rpm yikes!).

After spraying easy start around the engine bay with it running it was obvious I had a vacuum leak, I replaced the grommet from the icv to the manifold with no joy so took the manifold off.

I'd got another gasket for under the manifold as it was defo drawing air in from this area. Upon further inspection there was a hole that looked like it should have a hose attached but didn't.. Looking at realoem and knowledge from others it seemed that there should be a blanking cap on this, so I made one up and put the manifold back on. Erm.. I had a problem starting the car here but it absolutely wasn't due to me fitting the fuel pipes the wrong way, Nooo siree!!

The ccv was completely blocked too. Have some pics!

I was getting so fed up but all this worked, runs sweet as a nut now Smile I love it with the IS diff still on too, glad I didn't swap it out Smile

Got my AC exhaust on also! :eyebrows

Got all the tar off and gave the tailpipes a quick polish with my trusty £10 drill..

Rob was in charge of fitting the other box at the time and I have never known 8mm nuts to be sooo tight!!! Wink

All fitted

Sounds groovy!

Also changed the bonnet struts as I finally had enough of the thing randomly shutting on my head.

I wanted a induction kit with heatshield to replace the airbox which is cracked and flapping about as there's no brackets for it to bolt onto on the 318is, the filter is also well passed its best.

Dave F and K&N kits with the heatshield are stupid money and I can't justify spending that much wedge. Any cheap kits I've seen are cheap for a reason! So I thought I'd make my own..

Filter for £15, 80mm silicone elbow for £11 and some 80mm aluminium pipe for £8 and a couple of quid for two jubilee clips. I got an old H&S sign from work and some door seal from an old forklift..

Used a bit of cardboard to get the correct shape,

roughly cut and bent,

painted up with rubbers seals on,

And fitted to the car..

[Image: 1be872d1-09aa-43e0-b17c-3d5af4724552.jpg]

I'm happy with it! Superb knicker wetting induction BWWARRP too!! Quicker but probably just because the old filter was so fooked..

Still got these to put on at some point..

Haha, thanks.

Thing is that'd be out of my skill range mate, also would cost a pretty penny just for the lump (let alone all the bits to get it going properly)

Got my allignment done today at Aaron Reeve performance. Only just realised I didn't get a printout.. Never mind, it's done the trick! Car tracks straight and feels LOADS better to drive. Should have done it sooner, should save me some on tyres too!

Pics
[Image: image-87.jpg]

Minor issues getting on/off the ramp!!

Aaron also fitted one of his sumpguards which look a decent piece of kit

And an action shot!

Just yesterday I was talking about hit debris in the road..this morning I done some damage. I hit fooking great bit of 2x2 angle iron that a nice person had deposited in the middle of the road. Couldnt avoid it as there was a car coming in the other direction and wouldn't have stopped in time by braking hard (and that would have dived the front down even more), so I put my foot down to try to raise the front! Still hit it.

I'd say the sumpguard has now paid for itself.

Also put two great dents in the exhaust on it's way out the back..

It buggered one of the bolts but the riv nuts were ok so I've replaced them all with 8.8 button head Allen bolts so they aren't as stickyouty as before

Couple of bits done today. Got my stud conversion fitted. went ok apart from one stud had a crap thread and took some buggering about to fit, I almost expect stuff I buy to have something wrong these days...

I also fitted some 7mm spacers on the rear and the 3mm from the back onto the front. No rubbing as yet although the rear is tight! there's plenty of rubbing front the splitter/lip thing though, I'm surprised its still on tbh! I took a few pics too Smile
