So this is the current state of the sedan...

[Image: 1457516_10153406093955062_934493967_n.jpg]

Got its fair share of rust and quite a bit of mold (has lived in Wales)
Had a decent knock on the front as can be seen bottom of the picture to the cross member
Hopefully the engine comes out Monday

So i got a new gov that was shimmed about 6mm with a nut, tried to put the pump back together and the gov kept coming out of the cradle, found out this is why:

[Image: 1463119_10153478359285062_1986759318_n.jpg]

That was annoying, but i still had the gov that i broke so a replacement was there

Then did this:

[Image: 1452427_10153478359325062_294697214_n.jpg]

The spring is a bit smaller than 1/2 the size of the standard gov spring, and a little bit softer, any ideas if that will cause me any problems? Couldnt fit the standard spring back on so rummaged through my collection of crap and put this together...

Dont usually like Ph2 front ends, but with the Ph3 headlights you've made it look nice, quite like the dragoon one! Sedan could be a beast though haha

So almost 3 weeks ago now the turbo blew on the hatch, what a nightmare that was.
Found out when taking the broken turbo off that the car doesnt have EGR and that the turbo was a T2, though the seals blew the shaft has almost no play, so buying used turbos now seems a very luck based affair Sad

Currently running the K14 off the sedan and i much prefer the smaller turbo, spools so much quicker, changed the power range from 3-4k to 1.5-3k, much more fun to drive now! (Still running standard tune on lucas)

Anyway put some S16 seats in:

Got the engine out the sedan, the car has 133,338 miles on the clock:
[Image: 1467310_10153512033915062_279444460_n.jpg]
Not bad?

Getting excited:

[Image: 1477398_10153569243445062_1552668075_n.jpg]

Went to Dorchester to strip a white phase 3 1.9D with a blown head gasket, turns out when you take all but the drivers seat out you can fit:
4 doors, bumper, 2 headlights, 2 tail lights, full exhaust, grille, 4 front shocks with springs, 2 front wings, 2 axle stands, 1 trolley jack, 4 door rubbers, 4 headrests, tool box, 5 litre oil container, 2 radios, 2 side skirts and 2 wing mirrors.
Not the most comfortable or safe journey home

Cheers for reading Smile

Good progress...
Sounds like that T2 was on its way out for some time, when my old k14 died, I put a T2 on it and it was so much better than the k14! Lol!

What turbo have you planned for the new engine?

The T2 woke up when I did the full exhaust, but the power band has always been between 3k-4k for me, never noticed any loss in power before it went.

When starting it from cold the engine didnt idle quite properly, a bit below normal speed, made a lot more noise, car shook a bit and blew a fair bit of white smoke, until I pressed the throttle slightly, so thought and was told it was likely a sticky I ejector, but it was probably actually oil sat on the pistons...

Still got a fair bit to do before the sedan is ready for the road. Got a TD04 for it but I fancy having a go at a compound set up, not for massive power but for non-stop boost!

K14 isn't smaller than the T2 . . .your T2 was probs knackered . . .Smile

Surely it couldnt have been knackered for the 14k iv driven it over?
Unless it got knackered very slowly and i just got used to it as it died maybe

That GOV doesnt look right mate...sorry, missed it before.

I would say your replacement spring is a bit pointless if its spongey as thats what you are trying to get rid of when shimming it.
Take it out, and put in less shim, although it is bloody tight to get back in, I always hurt my hand doing it! lol

So, goodies

Engine mounts
[Image: 10494535_10154238570900062_6126047434050643559_n.jpg]

BakerBM axle mounts (cheers Grant)
[Image: 10592800_10154441309265062_919006811488967297_n.jpg]

Got the aircon heater holes welded up (both got cleaned up and painted since)
[Image: 10616675_10154441309275062_2595793997028384604_n.jpg]

Cut the hole for the non-aircon heater to draw air in
[Image: 10451895_10154444832820062_6347500255986166586_n.jpg]

The lower hole which the aircon pipes ran into will eventually be drilled so i can run cables for a battery to be placed in the boot, and because of the size of the intercooler ill probably have to stick the washer bottle in there too

Getting there

Thats not a bad idea with the hammerite in the engine bay..... Got me thinking......

Like the lower console too...although you may be cursing having gloss white!

( I got LOADS of white interior trim bits if you want them for postage costs?)

Its Bianca white, had some left in the can
I dont know if i will keep it white, i just cant see me finding a black that wouldnt stand out against the rest of the centre console black

The cooler is massive, probably too massive, i may have to downsize at some point but hopefully not Smile

Last night i ended up buying a pair of OMP Design 2 seats, so the interior is taking a slightly different styling instead of making a half leather set fit
