Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM
No need for session based days IMHO. Enough cheap open pit day providers.

...but essentially the track time was after lunch?
Full open pit or sessions?

track day was £95

it was 10am-11am 8 sessions which i had two  full 15mins
then at 11am it went full open pit till 5pm minus 1/2hour for marshalls lunch

in total i did a full 2hours of track time according to gopro video looks like 130 track miles

good value for money

combe trackday cost me £195 for the same 130 miles

same incident from my camera !

that was the second session which the first N/side tyre gave up
the car started to turn, then i suspect the tyre shed its edge straightening the car to the wall
an extra handfull of lock brought the rear around power on to straighten the car......

back to the pits to change underwear and tyres Wink

So you both fell off at the far end of the track on the same corner (don't say it's 2 corners, it's a double apex right) Greasy track me thinks.

Here i sit now with a bowl of nuts and a bottle of cider typing this......

Ive had a shit month!
buying a f*cked ATB Diff
fitting said Diff
removing said Diff
daughter having teeth pulled out having to fetch here from sussex
son causing all types off hastle at home because he turned into Kevin and perry big time
rebuilding said diff
refitting said diff
all sorts of other shit to that no one cares about but only stirs shit about,

the car pissed me off as it was still pulling to one side this time the opposite way

ive got a week off this week and not done anything for myself other than turned into mr grouch

been really considering selling up and f*cking it all off for something newer!

so yesterday i removed the long drive shaft removed the speedo drive nose and replaced it with the early box type with the shim
the reason for this was....

peugeot fitted two different speedo housings
1 with 10mm protrusion preload on the diff bearing
1 with 8.6mm protrusion preload on the diff bearing

the 8.6 casting is used with a 1.5mm bearing shim this adds an extra .1mm of preload to the diff bearing

my thought was maybe because warn diff bearings the diff is shifting in the casting causing the pull to one side

when i removed the speedo nose and measured it, it was 9.6mm with no shim HMMMMMMM!

the 8.6 casting is different as it uses different length bolts
so refitted the 8.6 with the 1.5mm shim
torqued it up and refitted everything

went for a drive yesterday and the car was a different animal,

anyway wife gone out tonight sat here bored.....
grabbed the keys and took Bianca out for a run

30mph speed limit, 40mph limit, unmarked copper Bastard i saw you Dodgy too many speed limits around here,
cheeky overtake to some clear road, and off straight to 60mph cars pulling well and pulling straight!
down the gears up the gears pulling straight

Im loving the diff power through the corners and off

ive had a cracking drive
hairs on my arms are raised arms are tingling adrenaline is raging
f*ck yeh!
i know why i bought this car
it makes me smile

and no its not for sale!

she is all parked up and waiting for the hill

see you all at Pugfest

Big Grin

Glad to see you have it sorted. Nothing worse than just doing big jobs with no reward like taking the box on and off.

Had clutch issues years ago on my rover and felt exactly the same, box on off on off on off. Easy to get you down but puts a smile on your face when it's all come together.

Did you change the speedo housing when you fitted the atb in the first place? How come all the trouble with different parts of housings?

when i fitted the ATB i fitted it back as i took it off

the gearbox came from a low mileage car and was fitted when i fitted the rebuilt engine, Ive never had it apart
but who knows previous history

the strange thing was, when i fitted the rebuilt diff the second time the car drove spot on no pull or anything
the following day the pull was back but in the opposite direction

i put that down to bearing movement so went investigating
went to peugeot who printed me of a load of info
but even they said put back like for like

what i found was the N/S shaft puts a lot of load into the diff this would force the O/S diff bearing outer race outward tight against the speedo Nose

i also found the nose to be 9.6mm not 10mm this would add 0.4mm extra bearing play/diff movement

i need to look at that 9.6 nose again to see the finish as i suspect the bearing may have spun and eroded the speedo case giving the issue in the first place

I'm only going on what I've found by looking through service box for partnumbers and changes parts

Cadwell is a decent little circuit, albeit a bike circuit. Used to be one of my locals and always enjoyed a trip there.

Watch out for the off camber bend near the start if it's damp! Spins many a car!
