And what about the old ecu? When you take that off did that stay unlocked?

Chip in the key becomes pointless when the imob is deleted.
As for the old one it worked fine as soon as you plug it back in, no locking and and locking business.

Ruan Wrote:Hmmm... Hopefully yours is a Bosch Motronic, not one of teh gayboy Sagems they put in some 1.8XSs and XSis.. The sagem is shite. I wonder if it would be possible to fit a gti Bosch once both manifolds with injectors are on. Actually nah. Get a Omex

Don't forget Matt it will take some time for it to settle in. Keep an eye on your fuel economy and how it runs over the next few weeks.

they aren't as fragile as you would think. the only ways you can blow ecus is by shorting them across the battery, shorting wires or by over volting them (24v starts). just swapping them over won't hurt them
26-12-2011, 11:55 PM
Fair enough. Either way this ecu has made a differene in noise hopefully will see a few more gains when ive done a couple of mods

It's an xsi ecu thats been remapped. I bought it from Ohara and me got it from Taylon. I'm not sure of the map it's got as yet, will have to get it on the dyno
