Its certainly a good price no matter how shagged it is, just for parts values if nothing else, just needs a good going over tbh..

IIRC its still lossing water somewhere even after an engine change, it does shift tho very well. Thik he just swaped instead of breaking it as it was a lot quicker but still a very nice car for parts. All the gauges do work aswell

This. If there is something dangerous about it, should it not be made known?

Well it was written off ffs! I've heard it was a Cat C repaired vehicle as i have mentioned earlier. Even though this tells you f*ck all in reality as to the actual damage severity as they vary so much... its a good indicator atleast, that there could be some royal basterdised structural damage lurking!

90% of 306's are Cat c'd it means nothing....and its pretty unlikely to have a fooked chassis, or at least not related to the cat c anyway..

Wouldnt suprise me that its overheating / probs shagged motor...never did work very good from what I heard / wasnt really uprated in any form so just waiting for issues tbh...Gotta have plenty of mechanical sympathy to drive a big turbo XUD with a STOCK engine.

A few of the things thats wrong with it are

Clutch is slipping
was pissing water out the back of the block i believe it wasnt fixed when kyle sold it so could have been run on low water at some point
Electrical issues
Rear arch had previously rotten and patched up but still rotten
various seat belt mounting points were rusted
Beam had been lowered by some who is known for smashing the arms off
most things were flung together too quickly and no real time taken as those who did it never got anything in return
pump wise i suspect its not even a 11mm pump the guy claimed to have shimmed the gov and hadnt
Cambelt had been reused of the old engine on this one as we all know a big no no
car was often driven on very low fuel
the car seemed to suffer from moisture in the sills which was causing lower seat belts harneses to rust.
Main thing car was on a bent ticket according to some who know him

most issues id told kyle about but most never got sorted kyle just wanted a car to look good not be full proof. which is a shame as he had all the right ambitions just lacked motivation at times to sort real problems.

in the end according to some he swopped it for the golf as he was running out of people who would fix it for nothing

^ wow. Break it for parts..

I used to buy/repair salvage myself so believe me when I tell you of some of the nasties lurking on our roads! Much Less so now,but i know quite a few people who used to cut and shut (bastards!) cat c written off crumpled messes! Won't even get started on cars before the categories came into effect, lol

The cat c/d rule came out sometime ago now when 306s, for e.g. Had more value then... So could sustain quite a bit of damage before getting a cat c, whereas nowadays... A slight scrape would get it a C. There is always exceptions to this Though. If you regularly hawk auctions, this becomes apparent!

looks like it would cost more than the car to repair and put right lol.

Ah yeah I remember now. I didn't know as the plate was different, but I know how much money was put into this car a few years ago, such a shame to see that someone's completely neglected it and turned it into a right shitter!

That was TurboAlis car??? Well I never realised that lol, used to like it when he had it. Was never keen on it when Padge had it tbh, but now I've seen its list of problems I'm not surprised he got rid. Oh and he's probably too ashamed to come back....he swapped it for low spec, 110bhp non pd mk4 golf..........thats one hell of a step down imo!

Depending on the condition of the golf, and the fact his 306 was shagged (and if I knew f*ck all about fixing anything) then I would have probably swapped for the golf...... And then sold it and bought a better condition 306.

Now that would have been a better idea!! But instead he put it on 18s, rolled the arches more and lowered it too much, losing more of it's (already low) value............oh dear. Speechless
