here is some info that may help someone
we have an issue in our house with wifi acsess with the kids

this has caused no end of grief due to not being able to control the wifi on a time switch

basicly i needed to stop access as the kids would film watch facebook and chat into the early hours

on my old router i used to be able to schedule wifi connectivity but since upgrading the new router didnt seem to have the function

but it does!!

there is a hidden page called parent control
which talk-talk seem to forget to tell their customers
http://192.168.1.1/html/advance.html#parent_control
within this page you can set up URL page filters for connected devices
and
set time slots the internet/wifi is available to single or multiple devices

probably wont interest many here
but the info may help some

Thing that gets me is with 3g and 4g you can be on social media at school and they cant do anything about it. I truly believe that social media is almost stalling the human race and turning us all into jelly. Its a complete distraction from reality. All we do is work and social media. People are really highly manipulative and the quality of "news" has really fallen in the past few years. In the future we wont know what to believe.

It works out as like 65p a day man, to be able to download and browse as much as you feel like anywhere you have signal. That's cheap.

I agree with eeyore, my brother and sister in law are always on the computer or watching the TVLiterally turns then into zombies. One thing that gets me is there's nothing productive or educational with kids TV programmes these days. It's turned them into right little shits who have no respect for anything

No I encourage strange looking people outside my house to use my wifi for free.

Isn't ALL wifi secure these days anyway? Can hardly guess the random combination of letters and numbers they stick on the routers!

No wifi is not secure. There are a few programs out there that "hack" guess really the generic passwords routers come with. This is how i get free wifi at hotels as they never bother changing them from what they are set at.

Plus if you think wifi is secure look into the snooping programs you get and sit in a coffe shop for half hour

I know people can hack phones via wifi quite easily so never leave that on when out, didn't realise you could hack routers easily though!

Its not so much "hacking" as it is guessing. Imagine that your sky say and on your sky routers there will be a default password generated. Some clever fucker. Not me. Has figured out how to get onto them via DEFAULT passwords. So if you change it not a hope in hell.
