I've seen a few people go from a gti6 box to the 1.8 16v box. To convert it back to 6 speed is it a case of just putting the 6 box back on or do you have to do more than that?

your better off going to the xsara vts 5 speed box, as far as im aware its the case of changing the clutch to a xsara push clutch and possibly the cable too.

The car already has a 5 speed on it but if I was to put the 6 speed gearbox back on would it be a case of just changing the box? Or would the clutch have to be changed as well

		1.8 uses a 200mm push clutch.

gti6 and xsara vts use 215mm pull clutches. you'd need to swap the clutch arm and bracket, cable, flywheel and clutch.
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.

So may as well keep it a 5 speed then?

Sure it's a 1.8 'box? Not a 2.0 XSi one? Not sure which clutch the XSi's use.

Probably has all the gti6 clutch arms fitted then.

if you're getting rid of the 1.8 box I may be interested, if you can post the code off it.

You need to fit the reverse cable as well.
