So as a few of you know on Thursday I bought a BMW 325 TDS

Its on 187,000 miles, 2.5l, 6 cylinder, 12 valve, turbo diesel, RWD, 5 speed manual that has a Bosch VP pump

It makes funny noises and is pissing fuel out the pump (hopefully sealed that today) but it drives well and feels surprisingly quick on boost.

Ive got it running on veg already.

Oh and I took it for a dyno today and even with its fuel leak it made 145.6bhp and 208lb/ft.

[attachment=0]

Thats 1.6bhp and 16lb/ft up on a standard car even though its done silly mileage and was running veg.

Plans are a modded mechanical Bosch, a bigger FMIC, induction kit, de-cat and maybe a stupidly large turbo. Also coilies and wheels off an E39 5 series.

My main aim is to have more power than a 328i with a inlet manifold swap so 240bhp. Would love to be able to beat an M3 but think thats a bit far.

Oh and drifting is fun even if your really really shit at it.

Thats a good power figure! Not bad for an old bimmer :-)

Quite like it but a colour coded front bumper would go a mile to make it look better although when your going sideways whats it matter lol

Yep theyer all bosch VPs. you can fit a VE from a 324TDS or early 524TDS but theyer like rocking horse shit (although I have found one)
Im pourning straight veg in mine, its a little louder but no running issues (as seen from the dyno graph)

it looks to be like a home made superchip that kinda works
its like a stage 1 on a dturbo but with fooling an ecu

Aircool the 6 pot makes an epic noise.

Yeah, its a resistor mod that fools the ecu so you can get more fuel in so more powaaaa until you fit the mechanical. Original pump head is 10mm? Good for around 200bhp iirc?

Also, would it not work out cheaper to get a 12mm 6cyl. bosch pump from something else and fit that? Rather than getting a 324tds pump and then another 12mm pump just for the head?

Surely the shaft/pulley could be modified/bodged? That way the pump would be calibrated to a 12mm head too?

Looks tidy for a car with that mileage. Needs the M-Sport bits, bumpers, skirts and spoiler, will look epic
