Ac button mod for fan
#1
Just pulled the plug out by the screen wash bottle and bridged pins 1-3 to do the ac button for fans mod. I saw on the guide that is said to unplug the actual ac compressor aswell, is this necessary?

Yes.
Obviously!
Otherwise you are turning your AC pump on!

As if anyones AC system has enough gas left to turn on... lol

JTaylor - Not sure about a guide, but you unplug the brown plug on the AC pipe infront of the PAS pump and link two of the pins. This turns the AC button on the dash into a fan switch to manually control the fans.

This mod tricks the system into thinking its full, so will turn on with no lubrication(assuming ac system is empty)

old thread but putting this here for reference, shorting pin 1 and 3 on the brown pressure sensor connector plug DOES trick the system into powering the high speed fans when the AC button is pressed but DOES NOT engage the compressor (2001 HDi) shorting pin 2 and 4 on the brown pressure sensor plug does sends power signal to the compressor. I've tested this so you can short pin 1 and 3 and leave the brown pressure sensor plug and the compressor plugged in for a working cooling fan override solution.
