Whats dynamic advance lol .bt the pump at the min is reveing out the best why wound it nt be the same wen driveing . Is there no way of doing away with the brown plug any way :-)
Normal pumps change the injection timing as revs increase - the semi-ECU pump has a solenoid underneath that has to be controlled by the ECU, if it's not plugged in it just goes to full advance and is stuck there, it won't do anything. It'll work sure, but you'll get poor economy, poor power and probably won't do the precups in the head any good running it with that much timing 24/7...
Sure it'll start, run, drive, rev etc... But it won't perform how it should, if you've set it so it doesn't clank, then you won't get any more injection advance at high engine speeds, it'll probably smoke like a bastard, have high EGTs and poor performance.
I'd change it...

Unless you hook up the ecu and get it working then you are flogging a dead horse in my opinion. (The opinion of someone who has tried it and eventually swapped it for a normal pump).

Lead flashing wont work either, it will just melt after 5 minutes and drip out.
Have you tried using any exhaust paste and letting it cure with the engine idling for a while.

My response is...
Hooray, you've made one car quicker than another with a poorly performing, possibly damaging injection pump...

Thats based on the old XD engine (i think), old technology. Lucas injectors anyways. Just refurb your bosch ones with new nozzles and stick an 11mm on the pump

Low, they're lucas and old ones at that...
They've also got very old precups, they won't make more power on an XUD... There's many other options than some gronky injectors out of a lucas powered xd3...
Break pressure is of relatively little importance on Indirects, your atomisation isn't improved really by the injector, more the swirl chamber... Totally different to Direct injection where pressure is key to atomisation and clean burning ... A new set of oem bosch nozzles are fine, usually the nozzles are simply worn and the start and end of injection isn't clean, that's when they really dribble and cause running issues...
Besides, injectors are simply not a restriction..
I will point out at this time that the OM606 which will easily do 400-500hp uses 135bar injectors... They are sometimes upgraded to 150bar for high performance applications...
