RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Jimbo - 22-03-2014

Looks a good project there buddy, few on here gearbox mounting there blowers.
Question is, is that turbo too big i.e never gonna spool that quick and be laggy??

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Matt - 22-03-2014

Love the gearbox mount, wanna make me one Tongue

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Frosty - 22-03-2014

Looks good chap. That looks like a fair blower you got.

You should really get a bosch pump on it

Lol hope its not will find out soon and let use no lol did you ever hear of any one puttin 2.0HDI conrods in a xud 1.9Dturbo the turbo wasnt that hard to do just need time lol

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Matt - 23-03-2014

Lot of people put the hdi rods in the xud as abit of price if mind.

Out if interest why Is it running a lucas? So much tuning potential from the Bosch pump and it would go better with the bigger blower

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Grant - 23-03-2014

Wow. You've been busy! Haha. Looks good mate Smile

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Poodle - 23-03-2014

What turbo is that, got any part numbers on it?

Yeah, hdi rods is a common mod if you're doing a power build on an xud. What's your plans for it next?

The turbo is ment to be 130bhp how mutch more power do u think a fmic would add was thingin of puttin two vito cdi intercoolers in it with fans all ready on it would that make any more bhp than one big singal intercooler lol i have a bosch pump in work shoud i put it on it then lol

Dont no the part number i will get to mara bt its out off a 412 mrc sprinter i work in a van breakers yard so parts are easer to get lol plans are fmic next and steel intercooler pipes lol then take it from there lol

Wow this is epic, great work soo far Smile

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Matt - 23-03-2014

Defiantly get the Bosch on! Take a look at the tuning guides on here, so much gain! One fmic with a 12/15" fan will be plenty good enough Smile

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Tom - 23-03-2014

2 turbos and a lucas... Unless you're some kind of wizard your going to have trouble making that fast...

Ye was thinking that to lol wat bhp do you think it should make.

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Matt - 23-03-2014

Hmm I'm not sure, with a Bosch and standard turbo I most make about 120ish bhp which isn't bad, with bigger turbos most vary between 150-190 and if your clever with vnt and it's control, there's a 208bhp zx on here Wink

What turbo is it? Obviously a gt series but any idea what modal?

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - padge - 23-03-2014

I made 132bhp on standard bosch, t2 and top mount at 22psi lol

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Matt - 23-03-2014

On my old car, I was running a Bosch pump with ground lda and gov mod, with a k14 it was making about 125-130bhp was pretty quick for stock stuff imo

On my new car I've got a Lucas pump and no idea what turbo, haven't been unde it yet, only had it a week lol.

I really want a gearbox mounted tdo4 not for big power, just for lols

think theres one of them at my work do they be on the old 2.5td shogun jeeps lol its say tdo4 on it so take it that it is lol are they water cooled as well its not that hard to gearbox mount lol if you have the patience lol

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - padge - 23-03-2014

Just sack the watercooling off, thr td04-13t is the most common one used mostly found on the impreza

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Matt - 23-03-2014

If I had a welder I'd be doing it right now, td04s are really easy to come by, like padge said it's the one of the scooby that's popular. Make me up a manifold Wink

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Poodle - 23-03-2014

The turbo is a GT2538c i think, as per this thread...: http://mail.306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-11264.html

Could be good, could be fairly mediocre, be interesting to see which. At least it'll be nice and easy to swap now it's gearbox mounted. Smile

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Piggy - 23-03-2014

Interesting read and nice to see pics. Bit worrying, some kf the turbk questions...do lots of reading on here, inc bosch pumps and how turbos work, may help your project Smile

Wow, be interesting to see what rpm that turbo spools at.

Don't see any ARP head studs though to hold the head on when it does blow?

You doing anything about stopping it too? Worrying to see drums on it Undecided

RE: 306 dturbo with 2.0 hdi conrods - Piggy - 23-03-2014

I am really not trying to be offensive...but whats your experience with cars in general if you don't know what 'spooling' means in regard to turbos Undecided

Hdi or Xsi or GTi rear beams all have discs, only slight changes in dampers/TBs.

What front brakes you running mate?
