My renewal is up on the 25th it's now £2614 fully comp...

This could be because I have now lost my NCB as I had an accident last year. My view is paying that much on a car like mine which is just for commenting has no mods and is worth £500 shouldn't be that much!

Any one know of who I should call.

I tried flux but they said they would be charging more.

Thats pretty phenominal mate. All I can say is shop around. There used to be a few companies that specialized in people with convictions and claims that advertised in the back of max power.

You might wanna consider getting a black box

That sounds extremely high for a 25 year old (assuming your profile is correct) on a standard diesel estate, even if that is with a fault claim and subsequent lack of NCB. Have you got a number of convictions or something against you that's significantly inflating the premium?

If it is a standard car, you'll probably find that a "nomal" insurance company will be more competative than the usual modified insurers.

I know its high but it seems right, my first year back owning a car, my current 306, I found all my no claims had expired and taking into account one accident I had in 2011 although not on my policy had to be declared and my premium was over £3k it was £400 deposit and £295 a month for 9months and that was only TPFT while I was 24/25, no points, and no convictions. Totally stupid and extortionate but I had to stomach it to get back on the road and this year being 25/26 and 1 year ncb it dropped to £900 fully comp then when I moved to a house with a drive it dropped to £700ish.
Daylight bloody robbery it is! All a result of the blame claim society though. I think a law should be passed forcing insurers to go back to common sense and not just pay out for the sake of it cause its cheaper than challenging it. Ie. if during a accident one of the cars is breaking the laws of the road in anyway their claim is null void, even if say someone hits a stationary car but it's parked on double yellows.... gutted you shouldn't have been parked there, whiplash should have a limit imposed for payout unless life altering results can be proved etc just my opinion but it's beyond a joke and needs reigning in!

Brentacre and Greenlight are the best companies I know of, you'll need to have mods though. Not sure how they'll be with the crash, however.

This too, no offence Ben but where you live I'm pretty certain is a bit of a dump and full of mongs who cant drive so will hit your car. Bet you it would be cheaper if you moved house.

Moving isn't a option for a while. Maybe next year but there must be a way to get it cheaper.

If you're with a specialist insurer, yes. Some won't cover you without mods.

Tried greenlight ?

I don't think I used any of my no claim with them as they currently on my other car.

Price was very reasonable basically paying the same price as my tdci focus for the gti6 all mods declared Smile

dont see any point on fully comp on a £500 car as normaly the excess is more than the cars worth
weve got Kayleys as a first tine driver down to £1000 TPFF

Everything, to every insurer. It is the law.

Oh. Well declaring them when you haven't got them is also using false details to obtain insurance which will still invalidate your cover most likely.

Try Greenlight. They can't be more helpful and my quotes have always been amazing.
