My car has just 1 previous keeper (and a full pug service history)

But ive had cars with 20 previous, no history and theyve been alright.

I wouldnt worry too much about it but use it to haggle. Remember stuff like the DW10 was designed to be able to do 100k between services.

Nearside Front Bonded suspension unit deteriorated but can function as intended (2.4.F.3)

Offside Front Bonded suspension unit deteriorated but can function as intended (2.4.F.3)

But yeah will go and have a look at it at some point I think after the replies here.

Becuase very few people know what it means, I also asked on the golf forum and one person seems to know.............plus, how can it work fine if its deteriorated, can't be that badly gone!? Not even worth an advisory if it works fine imo lol!

Tom fair play for asking the odd question about your golf on here. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here that are happy to help but most specialise in 306s...hence this being a 306 forum.
Your supposed to be a trainee mechanic Tom and your asking questions that I knew the answer to when I was about 10 and helping my dad work on cars. Sometimes it just seems like you start threads for the sake of talking and bumping up your flaccid Epenis.
People will help you where they can Tom but listen to what they say and think about the question before you go asking it because most of the questions, a idiot could work out!

Yes, you're right, TRAINEE mechanic lol.....hence needing to ask questions! We didn't all have a useful Dad to work on cars with unfortunately....some of us just had to buy a car at 17 and a haynes and break things to find out how they were working lol..... I know I'm behind a lot of you with car knowledge, and I've learned a hell of a lot on here and pugnet, much more so than mkivs or any others, but I still need to ask the questions - the answers are only ever 'easy' if you know them.

Not sure which questions an idiot could work out ......but I'm probably ranked below idiot on that scale then.

Likewise, I wouldn't ask on Briskoda how to do a stage 1 on a DT...

well tom if you dont trust your judgement, then bring some one who judgement you can trust for that extra back up simple as, i asked my dad to test drive the HDI after i test drove to see what he thought, then put his thoughts against mine and then said yeah you have a deal. also tom no harm in giving the fella a ring and asking questions about the car either, if your nervous just write down what you want to ask him and go from there, ( i know your not a phone person as you mentioned before.) you dont have to go and view the car unless it ticks your boxes.
owners wise iam the 3rd owner two female owners before hand. but the older the car is i wouldnt even bother how many owners, as long as there is some recent service history. what more do you want?

		Right, getting very off-topic here.
Tom- fair enough you've asked a question. However you've also been given and answer, so there's no need to keep commenting 'why can't they say that etc'. As mentioned, it's a standard description. End of.
You're right about not making extra threads, however there's also no need to drag out secondary questions. Of course we're not against you asking about other cars now and then (I have a Corsa and Scott has a 406 so we're not exactly ones to talk), however please understand that it can be frustrating for other members when they're on a 306 forum, living for the 306 and the majority of your questions have nothing to do with a 306. Perhaps you would get a more helpful/insightful answer from a VW board?

Everyone else- Cool it on the Tom bashing!!

Lastly- I'm the 3rd owner not including the dealer, and most of these have been females. She looked perfect and wasn't, but at the end of the day, you could buy a brand new car from a showroom, drive a mile down the road and have something fall off. YOU need to make a decision you are comfortable with, and don't hesitate to ask as many questions as you like. If the seller is genuine and wants a sale, they will answer them
