Removed seatbelt to have arch welded and now its fully retracted it wont come back out. Is there a button or anything to press to release it? It comes out by afew centimeters then locks have wiggled it all directions to no avail
Thanks

Had something similar with the mg, I ended up getting a replacement mechanism from the scrappy after hacking at the old one with a screwdriver. The scrappy one locked up too but it was just a case of getting it upright as if it was in the car then spending 15 minutes yanking it from different angles til it finally accepted it and unlocked

Is it bolted back onto the car? It will only release when the belt is at the exact correct angle so best to bolt it back on to the car and pull it in the right direction slowly.

Most seat belts lock when retracted to much. Best bet is to get a replacement, as I wouldnt trust a belt that's been taken apart

If you need one, let me know. I've spent ages trying to fiddle about with seat belts, best bet is to replace it.

They can be unlocked, ive done it in plently of other cars but not in a 306, i'll take a look at one tomorrow if I remember to see how its done, if you take of the wrong side casing you'll unravel the spring though and then youll need to replace it.
