So my intermittent wipers aren't working on my Gti I'm convinced its a relay not sure what relay it is all the things I've found are for phase 2 Gti but nothing on phase 1.

Are they not auto on ph1 GTis? If so there is apparently a blue relay behind the fusebox. Was covered a few days ago on a similar thread.

Sorry I didn't explain what is happening well when I put on intermittent it just goes to the first speed and continuously wipes the screen and it won't park when I just flick the stalk.

Sounds like the tracks and 'fingers' inside the motor are worn/dry.
A motor service may cure it

I might just change the motor for a spare one then this happened before but fixed itself.

Il have a proper look at the weekend so is it definitely the blue relay behind the fuse board for the wipers?
