Some may have seen my new winter hack which is semi rat already but I plan to go all out on this with ratting.
Now I'm think get more rusty junk on the roof rack, deck it, rusty 15inch steels and rust out the edges of the body panels and maybe some entire panels.
Any ideas? This is a new scene to me but it's looking up to be good fun

Do something different, the typical make stuff rusty and put shit on the roof rack has been done to death now.
I quite like the 'permanent bmx/chopper on roof rack' look
My mate had a black velvet style wallpapered passat & it looked awesome.

Don't cover it in tat IMO. Its been done to death and looks tacky..I should know I've been there! Get it low, filthy and naturally battlescarred. Could try and fake some patina but it can be hard to get looking 'right'
You'll have fun along the way though, My old Estate was the most fun I've ever had with a car!

I get what you mean about the cliche rat look, I would like to try something different, but the good thing about rat cars is that there's no off the shelf stiff so it's all down to you really.

Now that is a bloody good idea, like the micra bumper bodge too lol.
Replace a rear window with an old cupboard door, if you can get one with some filigree on it so much the better. Retrim the seats with old curtains, go for a full on mobile living room look.

Need to get the 4x108 wheel adaptors which give you the single shaft to fit classic wire wheels with the big spin on nut in the middle

Should do it like mine, started off clean, white steals painted with pound land paint, yellow tinted headlights
Now dirty as much, veg down the rear quarter, brake dust covered rusty steels grill missing, coal marks up the back, upward facing transit exhaust pipe looks abandoned most the time haha
