Clarion pu2294a(c) aux hack
#1
Hi newbie here but have owned loads of 306 I love them
Right I have just brought a clarion pu2284a© standard head unit
And have heard you can hack the cd changer port
And fit a headphone lead so you can play your ipod
Through the unit fooling it to make it think there is a
Changer in place.

Had anyone done this if so HOW please
I would be very great full

Thanks Mark

I think audioleads do an adaptor to do this.

heres a connects 2 adaptor. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTVPGX010-Peug...4ac1bde047

You what?

The link is to a hard wired device, that is not one of those shity FM transmitter things.

You plug the "connect2" device into the cd changer socket on the back of the headunit, connect the 3.5mm jack into your phone, MP3 player or whatever you want. Press the cd changer button on the headunit and your music will come through the headunit.

How else do you want to wire it up?

Did you see this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTVPGX010-Peug...m4ac1bde047

Yes I have seen these before but have been told
Of a way to do it by connecting the lead direct and adding a resistor
Would add a picture but don't know how ?

Sorry I can't help with that. Yes there is a way to fool the headunit with a resistor on one of the pins and connect to audio to signal straight to the some other pins but I don't know which or what value resistor to use.

I think someone done it over on the gti6 forum.

If anyone on here knows it probably be Cully.

Goodluck with finding out.

It's connect the lead to 18,19,20 and a resistor to 13,15
But don't know what size resistor or if it works

If you have a breakers near you, you could take a multimeter down with you and measure those pins on a cd changer, if you can find one?

There is this other Connect2 just for Ipods that will charge it and you can control it from your headunit/steering stalk.

The colours don't look to clear on that at all.

It looks like it might be brown(1) black(0) brown(x10) so 100ohm?

Like I say you can't really be too sure of the colours.

Where did you find that pic?

Assuming of course they have used the right colours and not just random ones for the purpose of the diagram!

I've bought the connects2 aux box for my girlfriends car and the inside of the box looks a bit complex.

So you can see you need more than an resistor to get it to work.

I have the connects2 aux box too, useful and neat solution. I tried the iPod one which was good as you could switch through tracks and it charged too, but I had 2 failures which I returned and bought the simpler aux version instead.
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.
