Harness bars
#1
Hi guys. I've had a couple of requests for these now so thought it would be worth seeing if anyone else is interested.
Made 3 now and one went to the forum member 'grant' today.
I'll be selling them at £60 each with spacer/spreader plates too. For this price they will come bare metal.
For an extra £20 I can paint them the colour of your choice and for another £20 ill even fit it.
Hope this is what people are looking for on here.
Cheers Dan Smile

It's for the shoulder straps on the harnesses mate. Usually people bolt them straight down to the floor which is dangerous as if you were to crash and be pulled forwards the strap would try and level out with its mounting point therefore crushing your spine :/
Safety first! Smile

Inner arches works fine and that's why you put the pressure spreader plates on the outside to spread the load.
IMO if the cars that rusty it isn't road worthy...lol!
And if you go anywhere else they are at least £80+.
Also just to clarify...no scaffold bars were harmed during the making of these bars. They're made from T316 steel which is roll cage material.

Oops typo...meant to put T45

Where are you based? Or are you able to courier them out? If so, how much is postage?

Cheers. Smile

I'm based in Bagshot and Bisley. I'll have to go and get a price for postage but based on weight and size I'd say about £15? Where are you based?

My harnesses go to the upper rear seatbelt mounts, was thinking of getting a bar with threaded ends on and a bolt like in the middle like a strut brace! And they are within angle regs of harnesses

Let us know how you get on after a crash test!!!

I certainly wouldn't want my seatbelt attaching to the inner rear arches

This only really works for people with harnesses, and have a look at the people who have fixed buckets and don't use them, I'd very much expect serious spinal injuries !

As harness s fixed to the floor in a crash with tighten and the bucket s wont move as the roof crushes down

So forum admin are condoning the sale of an item that could cause permanent injury or death when it fails as the point it is mounted too isn't strong enough??

Look thats your opinion isnt it. Everyone on here is big enough and old enough to make their own decisions so if they want to fit one, let them. He can sell pretty much anything he likes providing its legal. All we are here to do sales wise is to make sure he isnt a useless seller. Mind you we even have a few of them at the moment dont we!

It looks that way swampy. Maybe you could be a test dummy for me and let me know the outcome.
Cheers for the clearout Nial.
And in future ill be using larger holes for peace of mind and extra strength. My bad though...should have thought of this before hand.
If you want me to welded in Grant then let me know.

I think you'll find they are strong enough, it's a common enough practice.
Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.
