April lakes meet - South convoy (Friday 19th April)

Figured this would be easier organised in a separate thread, since there's so many of us going up from this way.

I don't know about anyone else, but i'd rather get going at a decent time and not be arriving late. Earliest we can be at the campsite is 16:30 and we're looking at a 4.5 hour journey plus stops and traffic, so probably a total trip time of about 7 hours.

The plan so far is M3, M40, M6. Chris plans to take the toll road, but i daresay there'll be some who don't want to, so we can always split there and meet up on the other side.

On that basis, i'm thinking the following should about be right:

- Pompey/B'mouth/IOW/Southampton/Chichester lot can meet at Winchester Tescos for 10:00, to leave pretty much immediately.
- Up to Cherwell Valley services on the M40 for about 11:00 to meet up with the London lot and collect stragglers, then crack on by 11:30.
- Then to North Stafford services where we can the toll and non-toll parties and add on the South West bunch for good measure. Probably be a good time to stop for lunch too, so thinking we'll leave there about 14:30, guess it depends on how we're doing for time and how people feel.
- It seems a bit pointless to add another stop for the sake of it, so may as well make this the final leg, straight to the campsite.

Mate Cherwell to the lakes is likely to be a bit far for me to drive in one go, Id need another stop at some point.

Im still tempted to say that ill meet you guys there to make things easier but I might convoy back with you guys seen as ill be going a different route and im also planning on leaving at about 10am friday.

Poodle, just read the op. Cherwell to north Stafford is really quite a short leg. Do you think it might be an idea to meet for lunch the other side of birmingham.

Main reasons were because we'll be passing there at about lunch time and it's the first services after the m5 joins the m6, so first chance to meet up with the south west crew.
