So picked up the engine today - but it has no engine code on it at all. It come from a 2000 Peugeot Boxer

here, and seems to correspond to a XUD9TF D8C.
Whats the difference betweens engines?

Get a wire brush on the machined bit above the sump line - there'll be an engine number there, it'll just be rusty...
