Anyone know what kind of discount you get on service parts? Got a spare day tomorrow so think I should finally service the DT after its 500 mile weekend, and can't be arsed waiting for parts to turn up...

The halfords discount is great, think i saved about £40 off a service kit and glow plugs.

You wont get bosch duraterms cheaper anywhere than you will on halfords trade, iirc its £12 a pair so £24 for 4 I think it was £5-7 of 5l of oil and the same off 5l of coolant Oil filter goes down to about £2, fuel filter is about £3

On the old system. Im down as a "high volume parts buyer" had to take in 3 months worth of factor receipts to prove it.

Some bits are cheap, but usually only own brand stuff.

No discount on car care (ie polish and stuff), audio, bike parts ..etc Fuel filters are around £4 a pop VS about £3 from ecp with discount. reckon ecp would may carry better quality filters too.

I work in a garage so just took in a few months worth of payslips and that was fine. I think mechanic qualifications from college are adequate aswel...

I got mine because I'm an engineer for a company and I just showed them an engineering qualification. My companies never mentioned it so I'm guessing they dont find out as I've had it a couple of years

![]() Think I'll just go in and ask, at least I can get the parts there and then instead of waiting 3 days for ECP to send me the wrong f*cking parts and then blame me...

Got mine cos I bought a 306 off the manager of halfords. Also have another one from a guy on pugnet lol. And yeah you do save quite a bit on service parts. It works out roughly the same as Ecp after 25% discount though last time I compared them.
